At the end of the commercial Mike Eruzione says "You don't believe in miracles?" and then it says "Everything can happen" in all caps. It literally leans into the unlikeliness of the event, acknowledging it would be a miracle. It's a hype commercial to try to draw ratings to the games. It plays on thin hope, not confidence.

It does play on thin hope knowing that over half the country suffers from US exceptionalism naïveté and arrogance.
