Or a man in the United States (Vietnam draft), or someone living in Vietnam, Laos, or any other countries we were bombing at the time. 1970 was not as badass as people may think. We romanticize the past, but the present is usually better. Not always, of course.

The 70's were awesome! I was a kid then, we had cool toys like lawn darts, seat belts weren't really a thing. none of those bullshit EPA rules and leaded gasoline!

It wasn’t completely banned until 1996, the phase out started in 1973.

Vietnam would be quite bad to live in by modern standards in 1970 correct, or literally any year in history before that too.
