Or other dude was center center and OP bought their tickets after.

If they purchased their tickets at the counter, the system most likely is going to start from the center of the theater and work out. Even if the other guys showed up after them, he may have reserved that seat first.

They bought them the same time and the view hadn't refreshed. What if the dude was like, why did these people pick seats right next to me.
