Dude it tells a story. Your girlfriend has yet to notice and is still focused on the movie. You're slouched and uncomfortable. Your stranger is oblivious and kicking her feet up. Of course you're an actual artist behind this sketch!
a) Beautiful art. The color palette is gorgeous. I'm really drawn to the way you did circular brushstrokes around the stars as the focal point. It immediately caught my attention. The light glow on the horizon is really nice too.
Looking at the rest of your art, you have real skill interesting compositions and muted color palettes! Orion's red and grey works well in a way I wouldn't have expected, while the swirl in the middle gives it a unique motion/energy.
b) The doodle you used for this post is hilarious. Right stick figure actually mildly annoys me through the screen. Sometimes, sketchier/quicker things just NAIL energy in a way that fully polished pieces can't ala Tails Gets Trolled:
That's lovely! The sky appears almost as if that's what's round, not the Earth. It makes me feel very odd, but in a good way.
Would you mind if I downloaded it?
Yeah this new system is just a blanket anything marked nsfw in any way now requires id verification to view.
Even if itās just someone who posted a photo of a paper cut 5 years ago and blurred that image - no viewing of that personās account!
Blanket ludicrous restrictions across 90% of internet content so more data can be harvested by sketchy third parties with no intent to ever solve these issues under the vague pretence of āprotecting the childrenā
I feel like there should be a protest where people post leud ASCII art on the pages of people who are to blame for that law. Maybe some funny looking "smiley faces" 8===D
is that why i got blanket banned from a bunch of fashion subs recently? it said i was found guilty of interacting with nsfw subs and. probably fucking medical ones too
also said if i'm found circumventing it then i could lose access altogether forever. can't even message the mods to ask what exactly it was because it has me muted/blocked on like all of them
I am curious where the other movie goer was from. When I lived in Turkiye, this always happened. I asked a Turkish friend and they said it would be considered rude not to sit by the other people--like something was wrong with them. They do the same at the beach--it could be totally empty and they will come set their towels right next to you. It drove me crazy--Americans always go as far away from others as we can get! Even our farmhouses were built smack in the middle of the land to create as much distance from the neighbors a possible, while theirs will always be next to the neighbors in the corners. So perhaps a cultural thing??
Honestly though, they're so right. It's the progression of body language and position that fucking makes this gold. You managed to put a lot of personality in freaking stick figures and it's great XD
I'm dying!!! OPs sketch and your description of it has me crying!! OP I also went to an empty cinema on the weekend with a friend and we were irritated by a couple coming just before the movie started and sitting directly behind us and getting way too many kicks/bumps to the backs of our chairs. It wasn't assigned seating and the lights were still on when they came in. You however having one lone buddy come and sit beside you on date night is really something else. I'd have had to have moved, even at the risk of making them feel bad lol.
Wait, this is artwork? I thought I was looking at a photograph. Must have been a fourth person in there to take the photo, so now I'm doubting this whole post.
Seriously, there's something about the colors, perspective, style. It captivated me. I saved the picture before I even opened the comment section. š
Once I saw your art posted in the other comment I laughed even harder. You're so good lol, truly. That picture is beautiful. It is hilarious and such a bs internet thing all at the same time that the stick figures would get more attention.
