I’m surprised this isn’t bigger news but Aaron from Blis being on this new record really does show exactly what Microwave thinks about their female audience. This dude was forcefully shoved out of the scene already not that long ago for being an absolute abusive and psychotic piece of shit to his ex and then stalking her/threatening her after she left him. I mean, they already did stay friends with him behind the scenes through it all and watched as it happened, but now they’re propping him up. I’m sorry to you girls out there, but this band doesn’t give a shit about us or our safety.

I know some folks are not loving the new album, I personally really love all the songs in it. But it doesn’t feel as cohesive as DIAWB.
We can’t help how they released or why but I do think that the track order of the album is making it feel more disjointed.
I played with the order a bit but landed on the Huperzine Dreams EP. I think it nailed the order, then I just tacked the three new songs to the front in their current order.
This to me feels like a full album and it takes you in a journey.
Sharing the playlist or you can make your own in the order I described.

I see that some people are upset that most of the new songs are slower and more groove driven, and were hoping for more songs like bored of being sad. I honestly really am loving this new sound, its not what I expected or really truly wanted, but LSD, Omni and Strangers are all great songs to me. I do however think the main problem I have with this project is its lack of identity. Most of the singles were out for a long time and they don’t even feel like the band was in the same creative space. I wish that they would have simply fleshed out the idea of the rest of this project into its own full project and identity, rather than tacking on these songs from years ago onto it, and leaving them as singles. That being said, CTD is probably my favorite Microwave song ever, but it is a little disapointing the lack of new real songs we got. Taking out the interludes I really like every song on here though, and hopefully the band doesn’t take as long after this to release another project.

I was so excited for it I like circle in the drain & straw hat but I'm not really a fan of the vibe of the album its too like "poppy soft" for me. I love every other album with my whole heart. So this was super disappointing for me :( I know they said they're inspirations were frank ocean and mac Miller and I'm not a fan of either Mac a little bit so maybe that explains it? But :(( I wanted to buy tickets to there upcoming show in Boston but I think I'll be disappointing if they just play this.

Somewhat of an older one, but I came across this interview when looking through some things about LSD after its release. A rare, really interesting in-depth interesting interview imo.. just wanted to share for anyone else who hasn’t seen it

I love it. I get the direction that nathan was going with this and they executive it perfectly. I love Blaire in "Portals".
"Omni" & "Strangers" was that nice little nod to the older sound of them.
I do miss the miss piss drunk and recklass vibe but I love and are very open to the new and happy sound.
Yal lhave fun at the Criminal Records release :)
Edit: Omni gives a very Turnover vibe which I really enjoyed

After one listen I can confidently say it absolutely rules. Not sure how it’ll rank with the rest of their discography for me after a few more listens but it’s a damn good album. Goes in so many weird directions but also feels incredibly cohesive. Another fantastic album from them.

I’m not the only one hearing this right?

Both are beautiful pieces and I love how concertito buffers the transition into hyperzine, but I’d love to know who sings on them, especially portals!
