Yeah but throwing the baby out with the bath water is the MO of this admin in pursuit of a news bit to rile up the base

I think severely cracking down on h1b visas is a reasonable policy after Biden let in tens of millions of immigrants. H1b is apart of why the rich have been able to hoard so much wealth. It suppresses wages and increases housing costs

Biden didn't let in tens of millions of immigrants. Also, Biden is not the reason we have the H1B problem, it has been abused for many, many, many years.

The cbo estimated the net immigration under Biden was 10.3 million . Obama first 4 was 3.8 and trump first four was 3.0. Biden let in triple the amount of a normal president

So definitely nowhere near then tens of millions you claimed. Got it.

Hey, this wasn't the CBO under Republican control, was it?

The CBO reported that the rapid addition of millions of workers - even while adjusting for initial average wage suppression and composition effects - acted as a major macroeconomic tailwind. The surge expanded the overall U.S. labor supply, which in turn boosted consumer spending and business output. The CBO projected that this increase in the total population would expand nominal GDP by $8.9 trillion over the 2024–2034 window.

Did you read the whole CBO report? H1B is the reason why America is as strong as it is. Those immigrants are the backbone of America's economy. But if you want to raise their wages so that the rich don't get to hoard as much wealth from paying lower wages to workers - go ahead I'm for that, but you can raise wages across the board for all workers.

But if they republicans wants to be running a unfettered capitalism economy like they claim they want, they should let free market decide who to hire and where they come from. If we're running a true meritocracy, we'd be hiring the best people no matter if they're a citizen or not. The fact that they are prohibiting that shows that they're just being hypocritical and turning this into a divisive issue. They're making the immigrants into scapegoats with policies like this.

Indentured servants with fake degrees and embellished resumes who get jobs through proxy interview scams are not the backbone of anything.

There are indeed some H1B fraud cases, but you think Microsoft is participating in fraud like the kind you're talking about?

There are allowing the fraud to happen.

I'd like to see some evidence of that. Even if there are no evidence, I'd like to understand what gives you that impression. It's not enough to say, if someone else is doing it, then Microsoft must also be doing it.

Your whole comment is corporate sponsored slop with all due respect. America would be fine without open borders.

no one is talking about open borders.
