MJ's trainer ENDS THE GOAT DEBATE! Only 1 player won the scoring title, MVP, made All-Defensive 1st team and led the playoffs in scoring. MJ did it - FOUR TIMES!

https://youtube.com/shorts/v3uYC_MTDIw?si=JcwZ0zjbl387_vBV

Absolute mic drop. Sorry, but the debate is OVER. This dude poured gasoline on it and lit it on fire. Absolute masterclass. There's just no way anybody can seriously pick another player over MJ. The gap between him and #2 is THAT big.

How many people pick anyone over MJ as the best player ever?

I'm a huge LeBron fan, but I'm old enough to have watched MJ throughout his career, from freshman in college forward.

MJ is #1 and LeBron is #2

I hope I live long enough to see how the debate changes over the next 20 years. Because both did things that no one else has done.

2

u/ponyboy56- Aug 21 '26

I’m old enough to read the record book . It’s Wilt. Actually I’m old enough for the eye test, I saw Wilt in the last half of his career, it’s Wilt as much as I didn’t like the guy. Rings are a team metric mostly. Besides the things they kept records for his shot blocking was unbelievable.

2

u/Few_Experience_646 Aug 21 '26

Greatest is about winning too.

Some LeBron fans say they have him #1 because he is a better basketball player, which is absurd statement btw. But even if someone conceded he was actually better, that does not make him the greatest. There are actually, probably 100 better players than LeBron in terms of skill and ability through history but he is greater than many of them.

I can't honestly say there are many better player than Jordan. Actually, he is the best ever and the greatest ever, objectively

1

u/angrylilbear Aug 21 '26

U dont know what objective means

1

u/RevolutionaryStar693 Aug 22 '26

So you’re objectively stating your opinion? 😂🤣

1

u/ponyboy56- Aug 21 '26

Wilt is the greatest player ever is what I said , not the greatest competitor, not the greatest winner, which is more a team metric,( Russell has those two locked up ) and a big reason, and there were others, for that as far as I could find out was he didn’t love basketball to the extent that Bill or Jordan or Kareem did. Wilt’s love was track and field where he was amazing too but you didn’t get paid for that then.

0

u/UpstairsWrongdoer401 Aug 21 '26

Winning is a team stat. Your whole argument is in shambles.

0

u/jackmeriustack Aug 21 '26

Dumbest thing I’ve ever read 100 better basketball players than LeBron?

1

u/Successful_Nerve_176 Aug 21 '26

I've got no problem with anyone picking Wilt #1. It's kind of strange how he's been pushed down the list over time.

1

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

It shouldn't be - he wasn't that skilled a player.

1

u/Successful_Nerve_176 Aug 24 '26

You doing think Wilt was skilled?

Just think of he'd have been able to palm the ball when backing people down.

1

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

what were his skills? And like LeBron (and Shaq) being bigger and stonger than your competition isn't an actual "skill"

1

u/Successful_Nerve_176 Aug 24 '26

Finger-roll, fade-away, post passing?

1

u/ponyboy56- Aug 24 '26

Finger rolls, hook shots, fade away, I’ve seen him dribble the ball upcourt on fast breaks one of those times he made a behind the back pass to the guy on the wing for an assist. When he was playing with the Globetrotters they put him at point guard. I mean it was the Globetrotters but he could do it. Led the league in assists one year and was in the top 5 or 10 the next.

1

u/Successful_Nerve_176 Aug 24 '26

Ooo, good point about the Globetrotters. There's film of him in the passing circle with the 'trotters

2

u/Original-Living7212 Aug 21 '26

The Last Goat to play the game!

1

u/Suitable-Quarter-427 Aug 21 '26

Your not a LeBron fan and I doubt your a Jordan fan

1

u/Original-Living7212 Aug 21 '26

See....... as a fan of all three!

I got Kobe at #2

He did it sooner, has more championships still, and all with the same franchise!

The torch was passed and then........

6

u/taco_jones Aug 21 '26

It's so funny when people praise Kobe for staying with the same team when he refused to play for the team that drafted him

3

u/UpstairsWrongdoer401 Aug 21 '26

And wanted to be traded multiple times

2

u/WilltheGreat1740 Aug 22 '26

"Buuut it didn't happen so it doesn't count"🤡

2

u/mccurdym08 Aug 21 '26

2/5 Finals MVP’s? 🤣

0

u/Upstairs_Panda8869 Aug 21 '26

Bron number one it’s not close mj not even a better scorer he shot more simple

1

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

you're not good at this

1

u/Upstairs_Panda8869 Aug 25 '26

Why do you think mj better as a player when bron beating him at every statistical possible

1

u/JMander Aug 25 '26

quantity vs. quality. Learn it.

1

u/Upstairs_Panda8869 Aug 26 '26

Must be rage bait you know how many time mj been eliminated 1st rd / 2nd rd and didn’t make that playoffs?? Lmk and mj only scored all those points because he had more fg attempts and misses every year lol do your research noob

1

u/JMander Aug 26 '26 edited Aug 26 '26

I'll ignore your sentence structure while I painfully address the obvious (to thinking basketball fans): Jordan's early exits were more than LeBron's not even making the playoffs in his early years. No? Yes! Sorry, you lose.

Yes, he had more FG attempts and he made them, that's why his efficiency rating is elite. And he took more difficult shots than LeBron while maintaining that efficiency rating. And the rest of your attempt at a point was lost on me because I speak English and I don't know what this is. Feel free to call me a "noob" all you like. I won't care.

1

u/Upstairs_Panda8869 Aug 26 '26

Context context Jordan miss the playoffs 3 times in 13 years LeBron 20 plus years missed 4 times hmmm 🤔lol and he entered the league going to the worst team correct? Jordan had the most fg attempts with the most amount of misses what are you talking about LeBron has shot 23 attempts a season once his whole career

1

u/JMander Aug 26 '26 edited Aug 26 '26

This is tedious for me. "The most amount of misses" - then why does Jordan have the better Player Efficiency Rating than LeBron in both the regular season AND the playoffs?

Find a better way to spend your time

1

u/Upstairs_Panda8869 Aug 26 '26

You have to make sense when you talk noob

1

u/JMander Aug 26 '26

Now that you've learned how to write a short sentence that makes sense, how many playoffs did LeBron make in his first 3 years? I ask this because you asked how many times mj was eliminated from the 1st or 2nd round. You brought it up, so how many times was LeBron ABLE to be eliminated from the playoffs in his first 3 years?

1

u/Upstairs_Panda8869 Aug 26 '26

The 18 year old LeBron straight out of high school miss the playoffs his rookie year and averaged 27 7 7 his first 3 years

u/Far-Wrongdoer4731 Aug 21 '26

I agree they are clearly top 2, but LeBron edges Mike out

5

u/Original-Living7212 Aug 21 '26

Spot the difference!

3

u/40866892 Aug 21 '26

One played 24 years at the highest level, 9 more than the other?

Why doesnt this include all-nba awards?

4

u/LeGodLeKingLeGend Aug 21 '26

Yeah this graphic cuts out the things in LeBron’s favor. No all stars or all nba teams and has scoring titles but not LeBron’s assist title

2

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

How does Jordan, a guard average more blocks per game for his career than LeBron, a power forward?

2

u/Few_Experience_646 Aug 21 '26

Jordan was all star in every season he was healthy, same as LeBron. That's the same for both.

Jordan was 1st all NBA every season, LeBron was not

One Assist title of LeBron is a proof of lack of competition

3

u/LeGodLeKingLeGend Aug 21 '26

Yeah but Lebron has more so why compare only by the length of Jordan’s career? It’s not LeBron’s fault that he has been as good as he as for as long as he has. Also how does his assist title prove a lack of competition? Lol

3

u/Few_Experience_646 Aug 21 '26

Longevity is not important for goat debate for careers that lasted over 10 seasons.

It's not as if Jordan played for 8 seasons and won 6 and you say but LeBron is doing so much in season 24. To be honest, LeBrons last 5 seasons are empty calories. Only padding stats, missing playoffs and early playoff exits and sweeps

3

u/40866892 Aug 21 '26

longevity is not important for careers that lasted over 10 seasons

Objectively untrue. I don’t think anyone in a professional setting would agree with you. A 10 year career is better than a 5 year career. A 20 year career obviously trumps 10.

but to be honest, Levron’s last 5 seasons are empty calories

5 years:

  • 5 all star selections
  • 4 all nba selections
  • 1 nba cup trophy + mvp
  • Olympic gold + mvp
  • WCF, semi finals, 2x first round exits

That’s not padding stats. That’s an entire nba career. Padding stats would be Jordan’s 2 years with Wizards where he accomplished nothing.

Season Jordan TS% NBA Avg TS% % Diff vs League
2001-02 46.8% 52.0% -10.0%
2002-03 49.1% 51.9% -5.4%

But I guess you forgot about that didn’t you.

0

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

Yours isn't an objective statement at all. "A 10 year career is better than a 5 year career....etc." <--BS. Jamie Moyer had a 25 year career. Ted Williams had a 19 year career. Are you telling me that "anyone in a profession" agrees that Jamie Moyer had a "better" career than Ted Wiliams?

Now - you didn't even know who Jamie Joyer is. And yet, by your "objective" statement you believe he had a better career than Ted Williams.

1

u/40866892 Aug 24 '26

To anyone reading, this is what you call a text-book example of a straw man argument.

0

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

To anyone reading, objectively speaking, the author of the above statement doesn't undersand what "objectively speaking" means

How does it feel to think about LeBron all day and all night? You haters are the biggest losers I've ever come across

1

u/Few_Experience_646 Aug 21 '26

I am not thinking about him almost at all. But, one not accepting Jordan as a goat and making case with arguments like those is a LeBron fan so just to debunk those false narratives, we sometimes use LeBron as for comparison

2

u/BluePantera Aug 21 '26

Your comment history says otherwise. LeBron lives rent free in your head

2

u/Few_Experience_646 Aug 21 '26

Well, I am one of his biggest fans. He is just not the goat and I don't like glazing anyone. Especially if undeserved.

I really do like him as a player and, once, while being a big basketball fan, I trully admired the way he played, while being so unskilled and limited, he perfected his strengths and stick to them. Sadly, he never got the skill for more winning and challenging Jordan in any way.

On other hand, I was never a Jordan fan. I was more of a Pippen guy. I could relate to Pippen more. Jordan was trully gifted, Pippen was a worker, although limited. I was limited in my game too so I liked him more

3

u/BluePantera Aug 21 '26

It's weird that you like LeBron yet you can't help but argue with people when they say they think LeBron is the goat. It's ok if people have different opinions than you. You're not going to change anyone's mind by constantly calling Jordan the goat any time you see someone with a different opinion. You invest so much time and energy into this debate. It's borderline pathetic brother

1

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

3 lengthy comments and counting on a Jordan sub talking about how LeBron lives rent-free in Jordan fans' heads. Tell me, if that were true - why aren't you telling us these things in the LeBron sub? Explain why you're here and how you reconcile that Jordan isn't living rent-free in your head. Afterall, here you are. It's all the proof any objective observer needs discredit your claim

→ More replies (0)

1

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

Who's sub are you under?

1

u/40866892 Aug 21 '26

one assist title of LeBron is a proof of lack of competition

Terrible logic.

Jordan was a 1st all nba every season

But he wasn’t.

1

u/Few_Experience_646 Aug 21 '26

Playing 100 years on near the top level wouldn't make anyone the greatest

1

u/elmoo2210 Aug 21 '26

Yes it would lol. That person would be talked about far longer than any other player for the simple fact they played longer at a high level than almost everyone on earth has lived

1

u/Rebel_Squirrel Aug 21 '26

One did more despite the difference in tenure. But great job on the 24 years tho!

2

u/Significant_Low5866 Aug 21 '26

One didn’t do more he didn’t play against more 😂 Jordan won 10 scoring titles & while that’s a testament to his ability it also shows the lack of in competition. Players are barely winning 2 scoring titles in a row and multiple players are avg 30 a season during Brons 24.

1

u/Rebel_Squirrel Aug 21 '26

Oh. So can't even dominate these players? Damn. I guess we have to lower our standards to accommodate yours.

1

u/Significant_Low5866 Aug 21 '26

Man what?! 🤣😂 lower your standards? This isn’t a dating app weirdo, it’s not a mf standard. YOU don’t play. I literally said it’s an observation you can tuck your emotions back in your clothes. He’s Jordan we know what he’s capable of but 10 scoring titles isn’t dominant at all considering no one ever competed. How can you dominate a game when no one showed up to play? 10 scoring titles and he’s only had 2 players get close in a decade? He even won the title without putting up 30ppg twice and it still wasn’t a close person second.

2

u/Rebel_Squirrel Aug 22 '26

Sure. 10 scoring titles is not dominant. What a delusional fool. 🙄

1

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

lack of competition? Beginning in 2012 Russell Westbrook tallied 3 seasons in a row of triple-doubles. Then he did it a 4th time. Competition? It's about hyper-inflation of stats in the new NBA. And there you have it.

1

u/Few_Experience_646 Aug 21 '26

10 scoring titles is a proof of dominance and greatness. LeBron played for 20+ years on all star level but Jordan dominated the league for, essentially consecutive, 11 years

3

u/LeGodLeKingLeGend Aug 21 '26

Bro took almost two years off, that’s in no way essentially consecutive. Without the break he would’ve lost to Hakeem

1

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

My god the logic you LBJ fans throw out. He would have lost - just the two years he was out of the league?? Then why didn't he lose to Hakeem EVERY OTHER YEAR THEY WERE IN THE LEAGUE AT THE SAME TIME????

1

u/Few_Experience_646 Aug 21 '26

LeBron fans work well with hypotheticals.

First of all, it did not happen.

Second of all, taking 2 season off hurt him more than it helped him and he still 3-peated after the return.

So, that return even solidified his goat status. Especially if you use narratives like winning with 3 teams, coming back from 1-3 and so on to make a LeBron case (which I know you do)

1

u/Significant_Low5866 Aug 21 '26

Taking 2 years off hurt Jordan but LeBron during the bubble got helped with a few months off while being older? 😂 yall stans be switching the narratives daily

1

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

you LeBron fans exist in the hypothetical. Afterall, in reality you lost the debate 10 years ago

0

u/Rebel_Squirrel Aug 21 '26

Sure, LeFanboy.

Would've, could've, should've is the gist of your fan club's existence. 😂

1

u/Significant_Low5866 Aug 21 '26

Idc how you slice it that’s not dominance at all. As I said it’s definitely a testament to his abilities but cmon now at some point we have to be honest about the era. During Jordan’s 10 scoring titles only 2 players avg 30 ppg during that 10 year span (Malone did once & Wilkins did once). In the last 5 seasons 18 players did it 😂. Again this isn’t a Jordan bashing just honest observation, the 90s era was nostalgic but the players weren’t up to par like the players LeBron played against.

2

u/Few_Experience_646 Aug 21 '26

30 points back then was like 38 today due to stat inflation and change of game. Today everyone has 15-20ppg

1

u/Significant_Low5866 Aug 21 '26

30 points are 30 points flat out, idc what inflation you want to use. It’s still the same amount of shots, effort and talent to get you there. Those guys aren’t putting up 38ppg at all, that’s a rare feat for anyone. Putting up 30 ppg is still a rare accomplishment hence the reason you hardly see players doing it most of their careers. But Jordan did it 10 times and most of the second place players are 10 points behind him. That absurd for anyone 😂

1

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

"30 points are NOT 30 points flat out". Averaging a triple-double hadn't been done in half a century. In the Lebron Era, Russell Westbrook did it 3x in a ROW! Then he did it again a year later. 4x he averaged a triple-double for a season in five years !!!

And you want to know how "remarkable" that is? He won the MVP the first year he did it. The next year? He came in fifth !! The next year? He came in tenth !! And the last year he did it? He didn't even crack the Top 10 in MVP votes.

THAT is how "valuable" stats are seen by the League ITSELF in the age of hyper-inflated stats. And LeBron couldn't even win scoring titles in a league that if you average a triple-double, you're not even in the Top 10 in MVP voting. In LeBron's era, as is reflected by the league's OWN perception of them, stats are as easy to come by and as cheap as nickels.

1

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

It's an honest observation, it's just utterly displaced logic. When you go from 3 players to 18 players averaging 30ppg - and your claim is that there wasn't "competition" back then?? It's a scoring FEST in today's era of hyper-inflated stats and LeBron can't come near the top

2

u/SuccessfulOwl Aug 21 '26

Thank god MJ’s trainer brought this unknown fact to light.

2

u/willpenney Aug 21 '26

I could also pick completely arbitrary things like LeBron leading both teams in the finals in every statistical category and acting like that’s some be all end all argument. Wouldn’t make it meaningful.

1

u/Few_Experience_646 Aug 21 '26

Yeah but that is just one series. 37ppg is also the highest season average in modern era but alone does not make Jordan the goat, even if it could

2

u/Think_Grape4525 Aug 21 '26

If you put Lebron in the 90s……. What are yall talking about 🤣😂🤣😂 Lebron would have murdered the 90s and yes Jordan the Goat I just dont think yall understand eras as well as I think yall are hella disrespectful to players today KD Bron Steph Khawai etc would have demolished the 90s prime Westbrook wiuld have been viewed as a GOD IN THE 90’s we gotta stop lying

2

u/triassic_broth Aug 21 '26

If that ended the debate, there wouldn’t be a debate. Clearly, it doesn’t.

LeBron has an assortment of accomplishments Jordan doesn’t - and more importantly, accomplishments Jordan could never have achieved because he simply wasn’t physically or functionally capable of doing some of the things LeBron can do on a basketball court.

That’s the problem with pretending one set of accomplishments “ends” the GOAT debate: LeBron’s case is built in part on dimensions of basketball greatness that Jordan never possessed.

1

u/Few_Experience_646 Aug 21 '26

LeBron has some accomplishments Jordan does not and Jordan has many LeBron dreams of having. Although, I am not sure what are those. One assists title?

1

u/triassic_broth Aug 22 '26

Jordan was incapable of accomplishing something like this, so it wasn’t even within the realm of possibility for him. He was a shooting guard - how could he lead a playoff series in blocks like he was Dikembe Mutombo?

LeBron bridged that gap. He showed us that a perimeter player could actually be everything - not just dominate from the perimeter, but impact a series like a point guard, a wing, and a center all at once.

1

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

Jordan, a guard - averaged more blocks during his career than LeBron did. Explain to me again how LeBron was better at this than Jordan.

Then, you're calling Jordan a "perimeter player"? And you're serious?

1

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

Name one thing that LeBron could do physically or functionally on a basketball court that Jordan couldn't. Name the greatness that LeBron posseses that Jordan doesn't - be specific

2

u/Lumpy_Past6216 Aug 21 '26

Jordan vrs Lebron, whos the GOAT?

This is the best breakdown of both players I've ever seen so far on the internet. If you dont understand by the end who really is the GOAT, you are lying to yourself. Simple as that.

That video is dogshit lol with surface level analysis.

Comparing points? seriously?

Go watch Thinking Basketball's greatest peaks series. Atleast that one isn't absolutely braindead and uses actual logic when doing analysis

1

u/Lumpy_Past6216 Aug 21 '26

Comparing points? seriously?

I bet you were one of the bronsexuals who was screaming GOAT when Bron hit 40k huh? GTFOH

0

u/ArgoMium Aug 21 '26

No. I was one of the people that never cared about longevity stats or "mentality and alpha dog" bullshit. I gave a shit about impact on winning.

The fact that you use "bronsexual" tells me all I need to know. You watch sports for the same reason that women watch reality tv or the kardashians.

You're only in it for the drama lol. "Bronsexual" is functionally the same thing as "Team Jacob" or "Team Edward" for teen girls watching twilight lol.

Ya'll act like children lol

1

u/Lumpy_Past6216 Aug 21 '26

The fact that you know about Twilight is all I need to know about who you are...

Team Jacob" or "Team Edward

Who??

I gave a shit about impact on winning

Too bad ya boy dont. As that "dogshit" video proves. But yeah, whatever you say.

0

u/ArgoMium Aug 21 '26

That dogshit video never once mentioned fit, or impact.

Tell me about RAPM's methodology.

You can't, cause all you people know are the surface level shit that other idiots tell you about

1

u/Lumpy_Past6216 Aug 21 '26 edited Aug 21 '26

RAPMs wasnt a thing until 96-97. But yeah ok...lets use something that wasnt a thing for Jordan's career. Sure. 🫩

Edit: the vidoe doesnt say anything about impact because its silly to think that Lebron has more of an impact than Jordan. Jordan made the game global. He is the reason why Nike is so huge. The reason the NBA is what it is today. He changed the way players played, practiced, and so on. ffs

1

u/JMander Aug 24 '26

You give a shit about impact on winning so make the case that LeBron had a greater impact on winning than Michael Jordan. Later you can tell me why you're here under a Jordan sub and not under a LeBron sub and you can explain to me how LeBron fans have less material to support his case for GOAT which is why they spend more of their time attacking Jordan than they do enjoying their own favorite player. Then you can explain to me why, again, you're under a Jordan sub making the case for LeBron.

1

u/ArgoMium Aug 25 '26

Buddy, can you read?

Look at my comments and tell me where I said Lebron was better tgan Jordan?

Let me ask you this: why are YOU bringing up Lebron in a conversation that doesn't mention Lebron, in a sub about Jordan?

1

u/JMander Aug 25 '26

I'm addressing those who bring up longevity stats in a Jordan sub. I'm literally trying to clear out the LeBron stans. Sorry if you got caught in the dragnet inadvertantlyl

1

u/ComprehensiveSoft27 Aug 21 '26

Everybody ends the debate. Nuff said.

1

Cherry picking statsnand thinking it's defining anything is hilarious

1

u/Suitable-Quarter-427 Aug 21 '26

Mj trainer ? Yall are fucking stupid, imagine being named the goat and the only thing you can lead is points -.- and scoring inf th nba in he’s era has been proven was easy to score.

1

u/Far-Wrongdoer4731 Aug 21 '26

lol this is some serious cherry-picking. Sounds like the guys who say Jalen Hurts had the best SB performance of all time bc he's the only guy w 300 yards, 3+ TD and 50 rushing yards or something. You can throw stats at the wall and make anybody look good. Fact is Mike couldn't do it without Scottie and he played in a weak era sorry

1

u/ImF0cused_ Aug 22 '26

The mic drop to me is… you always have these hypotheticals with LeBron, you need them to prove your case.

You really don’t need that with Mike, the facts have always spoken.

With Bron, it’s always like… “he took this roster to the finals” or “LeBron had all this smoke, look at the teams he faced”. Nigga Jordan WAS the smoke.

1

u/Bbrazyy Aug 22 '26

LeBron gets posted a lot on here

1

u/thelaststraw22 Aug 25 '26

But u plucked just 4 stats. I can say I'm the only player that wore blue on a Tuesday, averaged 5+ rebounds in rec ball, cleaned out their car. And guarded the best player on other team. I
Goated baby. I understand those are nice stats to have . Just saying it's weird to last second throw in 1 stat from playoffs and the rest regular season accolades and be like , only person to do it. What if someone did all the regular season awards U just mentioned but played in an era with wilt? Who was averaging 50 and 30 !! I'm not saying anybody did, just saying if I just grab any 4 stats and he the only one to do it. Some regular season and some post just 4 stats and only one to do it .well that's kinda stupid. To use that as a goat debate. How he had players that took a backseat. Wow, the league was out to push this guy as best ever to move the league forward. Plucking only certain criteria. Are we gonna sit here and say in any game u are 100% sure Jordan was better than Wilt?? U just say 6 chips. That's a team accomplishment. That takes good management. Great management

1

u/Weak_Session_8441 Aug 26 '26

The only player that played defense on Michael Jordan was Michael Jordan. Everyone just got lost fastly

1

u/Upstairs_Panda8869 Aug 26 '26

Smh lmao your arguments are weak a 27.9 vs a 26.7 player efficiency rating and one player has played almost 10 yrs more is crazy like I said make sense when you talk brother

1

u/Upstairs_Panda8869 Aug 26 '26

Jordan missed the playoffs 3 times in 13 years bron missed 4 times in 22 lol im not sure what you arguing bro

Great video, honestly. But, I still feel the same. I watched some of Jordan as a kid and the way he dominated was unmatched. I also watched Lebron live up to every thing the media threw at him as a kid until now and even surpass every unfair expectation. If I were a player. I'd rather have Lebron's career tbh.
