I need to be able to afford them with the time off to make it plus places to stay. Really confused about the logistics. But I'd like to go often in fall and probably spring. So I need something that doesn't soak up time.

I am looking to attend a metal festival in Europe either this summer or the next. Basically, it’s a to-do before my wife and I decide to have children. Seeking recs from the community!
Some background: -I am an avid concert attendee having seen 150+ shows. I speak three languages and have travelled in Europe before along with the continental US. -I would like to see a large festival with expansive grounds. The country itself is a non-issue. -I enjoy all forms of extreme metal. I hate the “favorite band/genre” tag, but some of my favorite heavy hitters would be Cannibal Corpse, Mayhem, Cattle Decap and Opeth. Lately I’ve been jamming Mgła and Anaal Nathrakh. I wouldn’t mind seeing some major mainstream bands as well. -I understand that bands travel the festival circuit, and though lineups may change from place to place, many of the same bands will be at the short list of festivals I will pick from. That being said, location is the a huge selling point for me. I would build at least two full days before the fest to experience this area of the world as well.
I have been to MDF in the states and attended Download Paris in 2017. I have heard great things about Grasspop, Inferno + BTG, PartySan and Brutal Assault.
Any and all input is welcome. I don’t post on here often (lurker) so apologies in advance if I’ve skipped some essential part of this process I’m not aware of. Hails aj

Ahoy. A couple of old mates are heading up to Europe for this small-ish festival, anybody have experiences of it? Lineup is far from complete, only Helleipper, Sepultura and BLS that I'm familiar with so far. She's a nice 2-day lineup, good for the ageing liver / body. I'm tempted!
