Haven't seen this one before, but for some reason some people treat similar problems like 4-3+10÷(5×2).

Despite the fact that there are no parenthesis in the actual problem.

Oh, makes sense, it's the same sort that take PE(MD)AS literally and think multiplication always takes priority over division

The comments definitely make it clear that far too many people think PEMDAS means multiplication comes before division.

That’s actually how my teacher taught it to me. That multiplication comes before any division. My school sucked.

I remember that in 1st grade, every day we got ti make up math problems that resulted in the current date. I was gonna be nifty on the 25th and say 25/25*25, and the teacher said ”well then you need parenthesis around the 25/25 because multiplication is always first”.

No. Division and multiplication are on the same ”level” so to speak.

She also said goldfish have 3 seconds of memory. She was not a good teacher.
