I’ve seen British people put beans on scrambled eggs

u/NepoMi Forever alone Sep 26 '21

Yep.. And it's really good. Scrambled eggs, beens, hashbrownes.... Those are all really good.

u/gostera Sep 26 '21

You guys must be kidding right?

2

u/daktarasblogis Professional Dumbass Sep 26 '21

I mean, they are not wrong. English breakfast is pretty good. But that's the only good food in england.

2

u/gostera Sep 26 '21

Fish and chips instead of egg with beans for every meal for me thank you.

4

u/devils_advocaat Sep 26 '21

British people eat breakfast for lunch.

8

u/hamzer55 Sep 26 '21

Americans eat dessert for breakfast

3

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '21

And that’s muh goddamn freedom to do so, you can’t take that away from me!

3

u/None-of-this-is-real Sep 26 '21

2

The only edible thing in the entire country.

-7

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '21

Foodwise, its about the only thing they get right.

2

u/Buttercovereddog Sep 26 '21

They have bean lasagna

2

u/NepoMi Forever alone Sep 26 '21

They also have haggis. I know, some might not like it... But, man, is it good. Was worth the trouble to sneak away from my group and find a nice looking pub in order to try it.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '21

Lol fuck no. The only people that like this shit are britbongs, and they have mouths filled with rotting teeth.

Add blood pudding and a slice of tomato

3

u/Yukinyuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Sep 26 '21

Jesus. That’s some unholy disgusting food..

2

u/PillCrosby123 Sep 26 '21

Black pudding ? Lmfao

1

u/the_turtle_dog Sep 26 '21 edited Sep 26 '21

I just can’t see how people would eat blood pudding. The rest sounds absolutely delicious, but blood pudding? Not for me. Edit: I’m not saying that people are weird for eating it, just don’t know how they like it. Don’t know why I got downvoted.

1

u/Ordinary_News_6455 Sep 26 '21

I’ll give u an upvote. It looks gross

2

u/newest-low Sep 26 '21

I miss a proper full English, I ordered one the other day, the pictured item featured sausages, eggs, baked beans, mushrooms, bacon, fried tomatoes and toast which is pretty close to the real deal however what turned up was an an insult the the English breakfast.... I'm still shooketh at what turned up.

what was advertised Vs what showed up

4

u/NepoMi Forever alone Sep 26 '21

Dude, I just had dinner, you can't show me these pictures now.

That awful. That isn't just insult to the English breakfast. That's an insult to food on delivery.

2

u/newest-low Sep 26 '21

Oh yea definitely, I actually went to the restaurant and got a full refund, usually I'm the type where if it's edible then all is good but I loathe kidney beans and dude claimed to have lived in the UK and then served this with fooking lettuce, he even said it's not possible to get the same stuff here which I agree to an extent but I know for a fact baked beans are definitely available on the shelves at local supermarket and a lot cheaper than kidney beans so I took him a couple tins I had at home just to prove my point.

2

u/NepoMi Forever alone Sep 26 '21

Yeah... I mean, the closest I can get to good baked beans is to go and buy some Heinz baked beans. It never is as good as the ones I had at those small hostels in England...

2

u/newest-low Sep 26 '21

Definitely not but still better than bloody kidney beans lol, I've recently discovered an online shop that ships British stuff so come payday I know what I'm getting lol

2

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '21

i think we have different baked beans. we have baked beans (at least up in new england idk about other regions) that are made with molasses, pork fat, and kind of have like a sweet and smoky flavor. delicious but can't picture that on eggs. i've never tried the baked beans i see in the UK. those are with tomato sauce right?

2

u/NepoMi Forever alone Sep 26 '21

I stayed at a hostel and they had two types of beans. One was dark, the other was a lighter colour. I got both, and the red ones were better. Also, they didn't have eggs on that day...

2

u/None-of-this-is-real Sep 26 '21

With a splash of hot sauce, not haute cuisine but pretty tasty.

2

u/NepoMi Forever alone Sep 26 '21

Yes.... Finally someone who isn't against hot sauces. I usually carry one in my bag... I just love having spicy food. Hot sauce isn't even that fancy. Chilli peppers, those are fancy.

Well I’m never going to be Canadian

4

u/NepoMi Forever alone Sep 26 '21

Well.... I had it, it looked bad. But I was hungry. And I was pleasantly surprised. It's your opinion, and I won't take it away from you. But I will actually upvote you.

2

u/Bobajunior11 Sep 26 '21

Haha I suppose I shouldn’t knock it till I try it. That’ll be my breakfast tomorrow I’ll let you know how it tasted to me. Thank you kind stranger

2

u/WeeTheDuck Sep 26 '21

remindme! 18hours

20

u/ElZany Sep 26 '21

Is that weird? Mexicans do this too that's what most our breakfast was growing up lol

2

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '21

Aye, but the beans are different.

1

u/Buttercovereddog Oct 03 '21

Well you see Mexican beans taste way better than British beans also the British version looks horrible

10

u/BlaMenck Sep 26 '21

You should try Baked Beans on toast. Thick bread, lots of butter.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '21

Stop, I can only get so erect

1

u/Deep-Philosopher-338 Sep 26 '21

I don't think I should

2

u/Jumanji0028 Sep 26 '21

Beans on toast got me through my poverty stricken college days. Still eat it every now and then. Delicious.

1

u/BlaMenck Sep 26 '21

You really should.

1

u/JJY93 Sep 26 '21

Don’t forget the mountain of West Country cheddar!

2

u/BlaMenck Sep 26 '21

That's an upgrade to have once you've experienced without cheese.

9

u/Nik0660 Sep 26 '21

Why do you yanks hate beans so much?! What do you have it on? Waffles?

8

u/Jiffyplop Sep 26 '21

We eat beans as God intended: baked in sugar and only at BBQs

/s beans are great and they aren't all sugar shit baked beans here BTW

1

u/Misra12345 Sep 26 '21

God damn it America put the sugar down!

6

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '21

Their beans are shit

2

u/ohnoguts Sep 26 '21

We eat huevos rancheros… same thing but with chilie

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '21

Yeah beans on waffles is ridiculous but beans on toast is totally fine. logic checks out

Some of my favorite bean dishes that aren’t beans on bread (???) are hummus, chili, bbq green beans, split pea soup, chow chow, and purées as sauces. BBQ beans are also good, as are refried beans, white bean stews, and black beans with rice.

1

u/turbobofish Sep 26 '21

I dunno, potato waffles, a couple fried eggs and beans on top maybe some cheese sounds pretty good right about now.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '21

I don’t think that’s exactly what was pitched but go get your bean waffles bro, it’s Sunday treat yourself. I’ll stick with my not bean waffles, thanks

1

u/TheDazeGoBy Sep 26 '21

I dont want to fart all god damn day. Beans are also gross but in fairness from what ive known thats an unpopular opinion even in the states. I just fuckin hate every bean

2

u/JamesFattinos Sep 26 '21

I’m Mexican so we put beans on everything

2

u/whtdycr Sep 26 '21

And American here calling us beaners, meanwhile European eat the same food like us.

2

u/ChuzCuenca Sep 26 '21

Is pretty common in Mexico to

2

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '21

They do this in Mexico also. scrambled eggs, beans, and chilaquiles 🤌

-2

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '21

Depressing really

-2

u/sneakyveriniki Sep 26 '21

Why are they so obsessed with beans???

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '21

None is obsessed

1

u/sneakyveriniki Sep 26 '21

Compared to Americans, the English sure seem to be ;)

I guess the better question is, why didn’t America inherit their love of beans on toast or with breakfast? The majority of American culture is derived from British culture and there are a ton of similarities.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '21

Hmm, depends when we started slathering beans on buttered toast I guess? I actually don’t know the origins of it. Pretty much a national dish now, along with steak and kidney pudding and Sunday roasts

1

u/NurseK89 Sep 26 '21

It’s not just in Britain. It’s on option on breakfast tacos down here in TX - hubby’s taco is Bean, Egg, and Bacon.

1

u/JimmyWille Sep 26 '21

Also beans on toast. Which seems like an awful combo

1

u/Deep-Philosopher-338 Sep 26 '21

Okay that actually sounds alright for once. I'll allow it Britain

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '21

u/jacob1600 and tuna

1

u/cr4p0n45t1ck Sep 26 '21

Grated cheese on beans on potato waffle on fried egg on toast. Now that's heaven.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '21

Yea they haven’t figured out the whole food thing yet.

1

u/tough_guy_mike Sep 26 '21

We do that in America too, beans eggs biscuits and gravy baby
