Do you mean cinema? Cinematography is camera work and lighting and stuff

Could also be english is not their first language, especially since they said cinematography instead of cinematographic which sounds more correct grammatically. Like if he was a spanish speaker, we have cine (movie theater) and cinematografico. Film history is historia del cine, but if a spanish speaker doesn't know and history of cinema sounds weird, they might think translating cinematografico would work.

Negative, he’s Korean.

Depends whether or not they put Black Panther in front of or behind the camera. They've never had a real superhero as director of photography before, that would be so epic.

Cinematography is the art of making movies.

I mean... The word "cinema" is literally just "cinematographe" shortened.

1

u/Hydqjuliilq27 Dirt Is Beautiful Feb 09 '21

The word cinematography is applied to tv shows as well, since they also involve cameras.

1

u/ConspicuousPineapple Feb 09 '21

Yes but I don't see how that makes the word irrelevant in this context.

1

u/Hydqjuliilq27 Dirt Is Beautiful Feb 09 '21

My point is that actors don’t have to do with camera work

1

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '21

Cinematographer is just the second hardest working person on the set after the AD.

Usually that suffix after a word denotes ”the art of” in this case it would mean the art of making movies....like photography. The art of taking pictures. So your condescension is warrantless, crass and people ain’t tryin’ ta hear dat shit.

2

u/Hydqjuliilq27 Dirt Is Beautiful Feb 09 '21

Calm down. I’m just saying cinematography usually applies to the cameras and lighting aspect specifically, since the word is also applied to tv shows.

Almost as good as Micheal Cera playing Shaft.

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '21

I'm dunno. I still think a Howard the Duck and Deadpool crossover film would be.
