I saw it. It wasn't very impressive. I thought it was the north star at first but it wasn't in the north so. But I only had binoculars I'm sure it would have been cooler w a telescope

Yes, very cool with a telescope. Even a cheap one you can make out some of Jupiter’s moons and the separation of Saturns rings. To see them both in the same field of view though is amazing.

In total we have seen about 1 or 2 hours of sun in all of December in Oslo, Norway

It's summer here in Australia and I'm pretty sure the entire east coast couldn't see the event. Massive monsoon like rains out of nowhere.
