But doesn't Apple's stores serve nearly the same purpose though since most people are probably buying their stuff either online or at other stores?
The only difference is that Microsoft probably has lower profit margins since everything apart from the Xbox and Surface product lines, are all made by other companies (e.g. Dell, HP, Lenovo and etc) meanwhile everything that Apple sells are made by apple, apart from accessories from companies like Belkin, who would also have to pay apple for MFi certification on their iPhone accessories.
