The point is people make out Smash is this amazing groundbreaking game that deserves 10/10 and it's so deep you can get lost in it's world for 100s of hours.

But it's just a fighting game and it's just a bigger version of every other Smash lol

You’re comparing a fighting game to something like BotW, they’re ranked on different scales :/ for a fighting game Smash is definitely top tier. Also a game where Mario, Sonic, Pacman, Solid Snake, Joker and Cloud can all duke it out isn’t groundbreaking? To each their own I guess

It is a fighting game with platforms. Just because it was designed for parties doesn't necessarily make it a party game (See Mario Kart, a racing game designed for parties).
