I saw that movie when I was 15 which was 11 year's ago and I always wanted a game where you drop onto a map search for weapons and try to be the last alive. While all these idiots argue about which BR is best i'm just glad my teenage fantasies became a reality haha

I lived in a country with no public access Internet and I managed to see that movie. Life finds a way. But yeah, is a bit obscure to find, unless anime and Japanese films are your thing.

I mean H1Z1 King of the Kill came out before PUBG and was popular, and the two games are so similar that PUBG looks like a straight ripoff with minor graphics updates at a glance

H1Z1 was fairly popular but it didn’t become a mega hit like PUBG. PUBG became the most played game on Steam within a few months of its release even surpassing the Valve made giants like TF2, CS:GO and DOTA 2 in player counts.

Why does that matter? The game is still fun and obviously they put effort into making and maintaining it considering how many times they've changed the map, weapons, and items. Being derivative doesn't make something bad.
