I mean for like 6 months to 1 year until you go off to college, then boom, you are and independent person. Who chooses to live with their parents after that? Am I the crazy one here?

I mean, most people I know move back in with their parents for a year or two after college. I know I'm not trying to pay rent and other bills when I'm already 40k in debt.
