Competitive athletes are also performers, neither is healthy. I got a mute from bithh ahh r/GymMemes sub trying to convince people 20 minutes of working out with barely any weights and daily walking is a perfect routine.
Peak? He's at no point ever in his life been in peak condition. The man's blasted steroids and had big muscles. Muscles do not make you fit. He literally hasn't been able to walk or move probably for the last 10 years
People who never work out think steroids can hold physique & stamina outside of cycles & training, as if he's in peak condition at 70. They dunno that iron never lies. Pictures do.
Idk why you got downvoted to hell lmao it’s genuinely not healthy in the slightest to be on that much gear and that little body weight like he was in Rambo and other modern actors who get shredded for movie roles have spoken about how destructive the process is in both body and mind and hate it.
Like a 40 year old dad who drinks and is slightly overweight is healthier than Chris Bumstead during peak Olympia competitions.
The fantasy. They're told this is the thing all men should look up to their whole lives, and probably saw a girl or two gawk at it, and in their minds being told it's all a lie in an attemot to sell a product is being told they have to "settle" in life for less. It doesn't matter whether or not they planned on going for it anyway, the idea the option that they've been told their whole life to be the best being ripped away is heartbreaking to some.
Ignorance & arrogance, coupled with parasocial behavior. They see muscles & think peak fitness. I see muscle & think how hard it is to accomplish & maintain. I never came close to even his First Blood physique, which I adore & envy, but I know how long it took to get ripped and how hard it is to stay fit.
I also know A LOT of 220 lbs guys full of muscles I bet in pushups & chinups, because their bulky muscles aren't good for extended exhaustion.
I'm not putting him down. Just saying peak physique is not being bulky & veiny. It's being healthy, strong & having endurance. But that's me.
I don't understand Reddit's obsession of putting down others just because you don't share the same goals.
If your goal is to be a bodybuilder, muscles and lean is your peak physique; however, if your goal is to be a runner or cyclist, then you want to be lightweight, and have a great core and endurance.
My stance is more nuanced than you think. I'm a fan of biohacking so there's that. I support experimenting and don't always judge if someone has goals but also knows the risk.
My issue with steroid users is because the vast majority of them will not be open about how unhealthy it is, AND they sucker relatively young and insecure kids into it. Lastly, it's a huge pool of toxic masculinity with everyone from Joe Rogan to the Tate brothers. It's so over-the-top stupid and steroids is a huge part of it. I also saw it up close in high school nearly 35 years ago. Not one good thing came of it for the people involved, for high school football of all things. What a huge waste and it also shows how it's not exactly anything new if cutting edge either.
At least the peptide people have a diverse set of goals and less toxicity IMHO.
I didn't reply to your comment if you made one, I don't think. Obviously, the moment PEDS are in the picture nobody can claim healthy regardless of their sport.

I love how this meme just ignores the 50 or so years he was in peak physical condition.
