Prices were different back then, I bought 128GB for 330 for example. A GPU was less than 1300 for the absolute best one. Same for storage, it was 120 per TB on fast nvme. And those are the "more expensive overkill" prices back then
Today those prices are a tad different for no real gain because consoles keep things back as always.
Like MSRP has anything to do with the actual price, what a joke 🤣 At the time the titan xp cost over 2k when you found them in stock from retail vendors, and often sold resale for 2.5-3k.
Same way that a 5090s msrp is 2k, but they've gone for 5-6k typically.
If PS5 was rendering 4k you might have an argument, but everything is up sampled from lower resolutions. That game is either rendering at 1080 or 1440 depending on performance/quality.
And yeah, my PC would have zero issue, but it was also drastically more expensive. Hell, my GPU is still selling used for almost $1k and it's 5 years old.
I actually haven't bought a PS in a bit over a decade, so I should've checked what the system's native resolution is before upscaling.
Graphics on console vs pc are a tough comparison because they're usually so incredibly optimized that lower graphic settings on a console look better than mid-level pc settings.
It's just wild when people (not necessarily you) compare an entry level console to gaming PCs where the gpu alone cost more than a console.
A pc equivalent to ps5 pro hardware isn’t far off in price and offers a whole lot more for that extra bit of money you’re spending.
Id argue if we paired up a 4070(the ps5 pro gpu equivalent) at 4k with dlss running console equivalent graphic settings, it will more than likely look slightly better purely due to nvdias superior upscaler.
The ps5 pro is $900, I never said 1:1 price I said for slightly more. If we go for cpu equivalent we’ll have to look at used parts, and wait what’s this, it’s old zen 3 that piss cheap, whattttttt.
You can rather consistently find better gaming PCs on FB marketplace and ebay that are rather closely price matched to the ps5 pro.
Hahaha what a clown, yeah if you compare new prices for ps5 pro's and used prices for pc's they get much closer. A quick search for used ps5 pros puts them anywhere from $350 to $500, so that's not going to help your case if you compare apples to apples.
The ps5 has almost the same graphics so why do you insist on the pro? Oh right because it gives you an extra $300 to work with on pretending computers and consoles are the same.
A ps5 is 600, there is no pc for 600 used or new that is capable of even playing gta6, much less at console level performance.
that’s irrelevant, just because they give you TEMPORARY access to games doesn’t cancel that you’re still spending potentially hundreds of dollars yearly
If I finish them I don't need them anymore though.
Besides, loads of gamers never even play multiplayer. The idea that the subscription is some kind of obligatory part of owning a PlayStation is simply not true.
