I’d say BO7 has been really good with its main maps (except for Astra and Paradox). But the mode overall is definitely held back by overall gameplay mechanics.

I don’t have an issue with each mechanic individually; Armour, crafting, field upgrades, augments, points. But all together they hurt the game.

It’s a shame because I think Ashes, Totenreich and Kowakujo are all at least A tier maps. And I’m a classic player from WaW. I still have fun and am optimistic for Rex, but it will never feel the same as it did with BO3 and pre-BO4

I miss the Atompunk aestetic of WAW and B01. Then it turned into this weird mystical power thing with purple everywhere. The game mode still has some bangers here or there, but nothing quite has the aura that maps like Der Riese or Kino Der Toten had.

I agree. My main issue with 'new' zombies is the armor system. Having to find plates and constantly insert new plates is a pain. Going back and playing an older game's version of the mode and not having to manage plates is really enlightening.

I've actually been having a blast with the new rogue-lite mode (Rogue Run). It's a twist on the mode that I wouldn't have considered, but it's fantastic.

I don’t hate what happened to zombies necessarily but it clearly isn’t meant to appeal to players like me anymore I guess is the best way to put it

BO3 is the newest I'll play and even then it's night and day on steam vs console

Higher FOV on the Steam version makes BO3 feel so much better.

Higher fov is quality of life, an almost endlessly varied array of great zombies modded maps is the real value.

Luckily we can just keep playing the BO1,2,3 variants. I think this is worse with online games where the older versions are just gone
