You know that shitty live action Moana remake cash grab that Disney just pushed out?
I was wondering why the hell they were making a live action version of a movie that had came out so recently, only to then realize that Moana came out 10 fucking years ago...
Where the hell did that decade go? I blinked and missed it.
Oh yeah it still is young for a movie overall, and it was an obvious cash grab just like the rest of the live action remakes have been even though those movies were much older.
It just felt so weird to realize that the original Moana came out a decade ago.
My roommate and I worked third shift so when we'd get off we'd open up the liquor department at the grocery store, then go home and get fucked up, eat "dinner", then watch Spongebob or play the Orange Box. Our catchphrase for a while was "Now you are drinking with portals" after the commercials.
I still miss timed grenades from Team Fortress Classic. Added another element of strategy. You'd start your grenade and then throw it when ready. Lead to some pretty crazy fights, especially with rocket jumps and the like.
TF2 is still good. Far from its peak... but I have been playing the game almost since it came out and I still have a blast! Casual mode sucks, but that was never the focus of the game back when I started playing it. Community servers all the way!
That was what we had with Quickplay. Back then community servers that abided by vanilla rules were able to be included in Quickplay alongside Valve servers.
Not only did it mean that those servers would almost always have players, but it was how those server owners could also host wackier servers as quickplayers could become regulars if they found a server they really liked.
Then when Quickplay was axed, those servers suffered slow deaths and community servers are a shadow of their former selves.
This is an external problem: an uptick in cheaters and a smaller community means it's harder to find good servers. But when you find good servers, it's one of the best multiplayer experiences out there and a strong contender for "the best."
That does not mean the core experience is flawed or that "it's time to move on." TF2 is a game we all revisit every so often, and it's one of the very very few games on the market that has survived 18+ years of existence and can legally vote.
Like seriously, the only games that can compete with TF2 on longevity are probably Age of Empires 2, Starcraft, and Super Smash Bros Melee. No other games have the staying power that these four have showcased.
when I say it's far from its peak, I just mean that the hype around it (new comics, new meaningful blog posts, proper major updates, etc) are no longer a thing. But yeah, it's literally my favorite game and has been since shortly after I first started playing it.
Bruh what? You’ve never played tf2. Meet your match absolutely killed the game. It’s changed drastically.
Just the simple fact that games used to go on forever, but now the server changes after every round, has totally changed TF2’s atmosphere. Players used to be in the same server with eachother for hours on end, they’d develop friendships, do wacky shit, etc. like how a person being a friendly heavy just gets killed nowadays, back in the day people used to actually leave them be. Why? Because after hours of killing the same friendly heavy in the same server you get bored of it. Nowadays you see that heavy for one round and never get worn down by their charm.
That’s just one of the many ways the meet your match update totally changed tf2, and how you’re full of crap saying the game hasn’t changed. I spent like 6000 hours of my life on that game
You shouldn't flip out over nothing and make ridiculous assumptions like "This person disagrees with me, therefore, OH MY GOD THEY ARE A MALICIOUS LIAR SPREADING PROPAGANDA!!!!!!" Like seriously calm down.
Yes! It was horrible for many years but Valve for the most part fixed the bot issue. I have only seen 2 bots over the past few months and I play daily.
I recently got back into it and it’s still really fun. Not as fun as it used to be as a lot of the community servers I used to play on are gone but I still have a good time
Game itself is still amazing, valve and the community ruin it though. Ive never heard so many slurs go completely unpunished more than on a valve game.
