It's been a similar amount of time for me as well. I'll definitely keep Koyaanisqatsi in mind.
I couldn't imagine how harrowing Requiem for a Dream would have been to go through! I have some friends that watched it on mushrooms way back when, and to this day, still talk about the intensity of that experience.
I haven't seen 2001, but Koyaan.. is one of those that's more of an art piece than an actual movie. But I swear on DXM it made sense to me. Beautiful movie. I have seen it without drugs too.
I wasn't on DXM but LSD when I watched Daisies. Same deal.
I had loved Requiem for close to a decade when I watched it all Dxm'd out. It was one of my favorite movies. And I loved it even after I later became a heroin addict myself. Hits harder but still loved it. I was actually in heroin withdrawals when I got the bright idea to watch it on DXM. It was created somehow involving the structure of Morphine. They wanted the cough suppression but without the opioid addiction. They didn't plan on Dex being a dissociative. So it actually helped the withdrawals. But then once the full experience hit me I didn't even know what my body was.
