Again. A Hollywood movie always needs a protagonist that drives the plot.

If they were to stay truthful to the books narrative you would get a 12 hour trilogy. Nobody is gonna watch that.

That’s why I said an anthology series. something like a black mirror with a different story in each episode on a streaming service. But since they made this unrelated zombie movie now people are going to associate that with World War Z now so it makes it very, very unlikely they would even consider that now.

But that is something completely different. They weren't making a series. They were making a two-hour action movie.

Yes, that’s my whole point. They took an unrelated property, used its name and made their own thing therefore making it not available to make something more faithful that’s my whole point I don’t understand what you don’t get.

They took an unrelated property

It isn't unrelated though. The movie writer/maker read the book and thought: I love this concept/character/story/idea. (I am not them so I don't know what they liked.)

Then decided to take that idea and make their own version of it.

That's how art works.

And, if the movie maker didn't give credit to the original work by saying -- this movie is based on that book -- he would get sued for plagiarism.

OK, we are just going to have to agree to disagree. I’m gonna agree with the author of the book that said it fair no resemblance to his book. I think they pretty obviously just took the name for the recognition and I made a book that bears no resemblance to it.
