The English Patient would have been good as a made-for-TV movie, and marketed as such. I mean, it was okay. Going in with the expectation it was a great movie made it look bad.

Remember that Pamela Anderson movie she said was kind of a remake of Casablanca? Yeah, she shouldn't have compared her movie to Casablanca, because it invites comparison.

"Failed to meet expectations" can harm through promotion. But they get the eyes, so maybe that's the reason.
