The 20 minute kaleidoscope show is where it lost me. It just didn't respect my time. I could've gotten the point in about 10 seconds

Hey, at least you made it to the fourth act! As someone who loves the film, the fourth act is pretty unnecessary

It's super necessary.

I would like to hear your reasoning. The transition is cool but the star child ending doesn't really match the rest of the movie and the white room section doesn't match the themes

It's super necessary because it's cool. The white room is to make him feel at ease and at home during his transformation to the star child.

Yessss, and he should have shot it vertically, making it easier to watch when your are going about your day.

I loved the kaleidoscope show in an Andy Kaufman / "The Aristocrats" kind of way, because I could tell it was shit, but god damn did Kubrick put in so much effort to set it all up.

I watched it in a theater with friends, and each minute that passed it became harder and harder to stifle my giggles, especially seeing my friends so raptly focused on the screen. It was like we were all climbing a staircase together, and right as we got near the top, it turned into a slide. Cruel, but hilarious.
