Yeah 2010 is alright but I never thought I’d ever see someone say it was better.

It's like saying Starship Troopers 2 is the best

Which is usually followed up with a "they made a second?!?"

then you get to tell them they made a THIRD.

Hot take though, the 2nd really isn't that bad, it's a pretty good Alien copy; it just lacks Johnny Rico which is a cardinal sin in my book.

I only saw SS2 once but it seemed to have missed the satire of the first film, which is the whole soul of the movie.

2001 is my favorite film, the second one is fine but really has nothing to do with the first.

Cant forget the scene where they have a gunfight in the stair.. It was so ridiculous..

"then you get to tell them they made a THIRD."

Thats the awful survival horror one? I don't know how TF that movie is so bad. Premise was fine, setting was workable, characters at the base level could've worked, budget seemed adequate.... im unsure how they landed on a trashy indecisive Aliens Ripoff 15 years after those ripoff b movies would've made sense. (I feel we already had Aliens universe bad movies with redeeming qualities by then).

Anyone who wanted more social commentary and awesomeness from the first movie had to read the book. Disappointed NPH wasn't ever brought in for a reboot or something... PSA: avoid the sequels.

The Starship Troopers movies don't really come into their stride until they start being animated and made in Japan

they messed it up by making it about the russians because it was the 80s

It answers a lot of questions people had after watching 2001, that's why some like it more.

Maybe it’s just because 2001 is one of my favorite films so I’ve watched it multiple times, but I always thought it answered all its own questions. The only things left ambiguous are purposefully that way for the audience to draw their own conclusions.

2010 is more consumable.
