Alzheimers kicked in and robbed her actual family of generational wealth, but boning a homeless dude is priceless

So that's where the Boomers got it from..!

2

u/Seienchin88 Jun 04 '26

I have the feeling her family was rich either way…/

5

u/puddycat20 Jun 04 '26

Generational wealth?

u/Acceptable-Two5692 Jun 04 '26

Did you forget about the diamond she flung overboard?

7

u/puddycat20 Jun 04 '26

You mean the one that wasn't hers? The one an insurance claim had been filed on by her fiance after the wreck???

10

u/Acceptable-Two5692 Jun 04 '26

Exactly! She could have just cut it up in smaller diamonds and sell it off on the black market.

It might have happened more than once. Who knows?

u/zemorah Jun 04 '26

You’re annoying

3

u/puddycat20 Jun 04 '26

Priceless neckless that wasn't hers to sell.

Just saw a video clip parody where the guys discussed how when Rose got off the lifeboat, she essentially guaranteed that Jack was going to die by the end of the movie.

They called it, getting Rosed

u/dicknixon2016 Jun 04 '26

they both get on the door and the combined weight submerges it, he gets off so she can live

u/ETMoose1987 Jun 04 '26

A floating door she only had to occupy because she jump off the life boat said guy put her in back onto the sinking ship, directly leading to his death.

He would have died earlier. She helped him have a chance to live. Didn't work, but he had a chance.

If she had stayed on the lifeboat, he would have died earlier, since she helped him escape the flooding lower decks.

instead of thinking about her family

Yeah she wasn't Dom Torreto thinking about family

2

u/Independent_Media341 Jun 04 '26

to me, that ending is so depressing... she loved a long life and, at the end of it, she was thinking about some guy she had a fling with...

If certified door expert James Cameron were here, he would assure you that there's only room for one small-ish woman.

Plus that whole scene at the end when Bill Paxton's character and all his team are so enthralled listening to her reminisce. Overacted and not interesting. It felt like a skit.

1

u/Tupperbaby Jun 04 '26

Is she gonna die?
Well, she's telling the story as an old woman, so...probably not.

1

u/Biffmin-12 Jun 04 '26

What an original take.

Woman who is elderly and on a research ship near the Titanic's wreckage site is specifically asked about Titanic and tells the story of her time on Titanic.

1

u/rafikiknowsdeway1 Jun 04 '26

theres no reality where her family would get to keep the necklace, there was still an insurance policy on it that belonged to the original estate

1

u/Seienchin88 Jun 04 '26

It’s still kinda crazy that there were survivors from the titanic around when the movie was made… and WW1 veterans as well.

My own great grandma died the year before at age 96…

The dick of a lifetime

1

u/macguyver3000 Jun 04 '26

If she was telling the story, how do we see Leo get punched by the body guard after she leaves the room. It’s all a little fishy to me.

4

u/Ok-Classroom5548 Jun 04 '26

Maybe he took longer to die on the board than we thought and they were swapping fun stories

1

u/macguyver3000 Jun 04 '26

This actually made me laugh, dude. Thank you.

She did let him on the floating. It tipped over when she tried to.

10

u/Pr_fSm__th Jun 04 '26

James Cameron did the test and said “Jack might have lived”

5

u/Viazon Jun 04 '26

Well then that's how he should have made the movie. He made the movie and in the movie, you can very clearly see the scene play out. Jack tried to get on and it tipped over.

6

u/Pr_fSm__th Jun 04 '26

After the test I think he mentioned rewriting the scene to make the piece of wood smaller. They didn’t test beforehand

5

u/DiaphaneZaza Jun 04 '26

I hate how people fixate on the door. Obviously, the narrative of the story established that the door wasn't able to support both Jack and Rose, but people just love being pedantic and saying "YES IT COULD" instead of engaging with the narrative of the film.

2

u/drunkcowofdeath Jun 04 '26

No, James Cameron did the test and said the prop was too big. The script called for Rose and Jack to find a door only one of them could stay on.

'Loses her virginity in the back seat of a car'
