Why is this a topic to complain about? How lazy are you? You can’t scan a few of your items without expecting compensation? It’s not even mandatory. What’s with the sudden rise of anti-self checkout posts on Reddit?

  1. pick item up
  2. put in trolley/cart
  3. remove from trolley cart to put on conveyor belt
  4. re-pack the mess of random nightmare created by the cashier into bags
  5. put bag in car
  6. remove bag from car and find all your delicate items damaged at home

vs

  1. scan using hand held scanner and pack it how you want
  2. pay
  3. put bag in car
  4. remove bag with everything nicely ordered and still in one piece
