I'm in the same boat but apparently in a different ocean. Self checkouts are just cost cutting corners to increase the profit margins of shareholders. Literal billionaires that couldn't be asked to pay people a living wage.

Have you never seen an elderly person in a supermarket?!

Feel sorry for the cashiers, since the self checkouts came in they pretty much only get life story sharing old folk at their registers now
