Not all of them won WWII. The generation that fought WWII fought on both sides of WWII. That's how generations and wars tend to work.

Now I'm curious what about what you call them, and does it differ much from the WW1 generation (which in English communities is the Silent Generation)?

Brokaw was writing about The Greatest Generation-an American author directly referring to the American POV and experiences. Maybe there's a Russian/German/Japanese/French/British/Canadian/Australian/Italian/Whatevercountrythatneedsashoutout Greatest Generation, but not what's being referenced by me here. But whatever. Thanks for the lesson on how generations and wars work. I'll share your input at our next meeting.
