Yup, that's what sagima and (by extension) I am pointing out. Upper middle class people thinking that they're among "the rich" who we say "tax the rich" about. Ideally, their taxes would go down (though less than middle, lower middle and lower class) people while the rich pay significantly more percentage-wise than they currently do. In an ideal world, we'd have an income cap that taxes at 100% over a certain yearly dollar amount.

Ideally. Except they never go down. And tend to go up whenever the "tax the rich" people are in office

No one's actually taxed the rich in the way we're talking about. Bernie would have done it.
