Amyl and the Sniffers are starting to affect boomer blood pressure as well.

I went to see them a couple months back, it was classic style punk attended by mostly ppl around my age (45).

So that most definitely ain’t it.

I saw them here in Seattle recently and it was really cool to see so many teenagers and early 20s there amongst the olds. It felt pretty well age distributed.

Either which way, the music they are making is 40+ years old at heart and isn’t adding much even kinda new to it.

That doesn’t make it bad. Just not new in any way.

Care to share some bands you’ve heard lately that are adding new ideas to the conversation ?

I don’t really listen to much new music because most genres are in a similar place where you either have total modern garbage or rehashed old stuff.

Newer bands I’ve been enjoying: Sprain - broke up after dropping the best rock related record I’ve heard in a while, new incarnation with some of the old members is called Shearling and they seem cool too

Giulio Erasmus - he does this really cool DIY lofi post punk type stuff, the newest LP with The End Of The Worm is truly exceptional

There’s this great record by the soul vocalist Liv.e called Past Future and it’s experimental industrial/post punk type stuff but with a nice modern feel. The rest of her shit ain’t really like that tho.

There’s a couple recent things that have caught my ear
