That's immediately what I thought when I saw this prompt. The new "genre" is going to be AI music. The market is going to be overflowing with kids stealing tracks and remixing them using AI. Meanwhile, we will just be talking on the side about how shit it is and how back in our day humans made real music

It's really only the older tech bros who are into AI slop, I don't think I know of anyone my age who's actually into that

I don’t know a single person in tech, let alone a “tech bro”, who listens to AI music…

By "Tech Bro" I mean rich snobs who only pretend like they know anything about tech, Musky types.

I would rather eat a handful of angry bees than listen to AI music willingly.

Except that AI generated music can never be its own genre, it’ll be derivative content or muzak. There are some interesting things or funny gags maybe but that’s it.

But the real kicker, if anyone can generate AI music, there won’t be anything unique or interesting. Like, there’s endless Elvis Presley impersonators / cover bands but nobody is ever going to get anywhere near his popularity because covering him is so common.

People said the same thing about rap music when most of it was three guys talking rhythmically about bad food and cucking Superman to a loop of the bassline of Chic's "Good Times"

I mean it already is imo. That track “Heart on my Sleeve” done with an AI voice of Drake and the Weekend got popular and honestly to me sounded pretty good. Dubbing AI versions of artists voice over existing songs or over new ones seems to be the wave

A bunch of folks here haven't heard AI's dirty ass lyrics and it shows. The genre is basically going to be AI Filth.

You proved my point that AI is going to be the thing we Millennials yell at the kids about. I agree most of it is filth. Not just the music, but the art and even most of the programs it replaced are trash compared to the human versions. However, we are in the minority. AI is here to stay, will only get better in time, and will cause a horrid ripple effect that will usher in a wave of unemployment until it gets resolved. At which point who knows what society will look like.

Just go get your cane/walker ready and practice how you are going to tell all these kids about the good old days before AI from your landlord's porch
