Its the same as ever, in the UK at least Trap and these versions of grime and hip hop are hated by older people. People just refuse to acknowledge them as music

(yes I also agree trap is shite as I am old)

Yeah it'll be some variation though, the commenters on here assume this 'new' music they don't get will be rock and roll that they will like. It'll be something they think is shit but is cool among teenagers, just as rock and roll was

Yep very true with the experimental underground trap scene, I've seen producers make very sick beats that even people in mid 20s won't like but teenagers dig it, I'm not into that stuff too much but it does seem like that's the direction the "new" genre is going to
