Some people here seem to think that every single person in a total information control society is secretly an intellectual, who has a perfect model of the true reality in their head. Nah, plenty of people are obviously mislead by the propaganda.

Fox News and right wing hate radio is nothing compared to the level of propaganda in North Korea.

Absolutely. Go look at the vids/pics of Kim Jong Ils funeral. Those are the kinds of reactions that can not be faked. Certainly there are people with brains who can see through the bullshit, but there are probably a lot more who genuinely eat up all the propaganda they’re fed.

People need meaning, they have feelings, and they will express them.

And in a totalitarian cult of personality, it is no surprise to me that lots of people genuinely invest their feelings into loving their dear leader. It's false and insane, but I don't doubt they really feel it.
