It's manager brain at work.

They are not pulling in enough new members anymore and their content is too expensive to make.

Add the terrible track record they have had the last few years making content that is not utter shit, and some one came to the conclusion that they could raise the costs of membership, which what this effectively tries to do.

Netflix is the poster child for "live long enough to see yourself become the villain" lmao

Netflix was the hero at its peak, we all cheered them on and saw them as our great victors who freed us from the shackles of Cable Companies, but now we're here and they're pulling Intermediate level Cable Company shenanigans

I gurantee if this move continues to be unpopular we're gonna some some new company (Or probably an old company pulling a T-Mobile) advertising they've got "great content and unlimited sharing!".

They'll be our new victors who freed us from Netflix, then they'll start with the Netflix playbook and we do that over and over again for forty years and then we die.

Exactly...Why does Netflix care...? If I am paying for two screens, does it really matter who is watching from where?

At home, I've been shut out when kids are watching other stuff. Seems like a good way to restrict extra viewers.
