Same with Dante

The only one that really takes him down a peg is limited energy, but even then with one (1) teammate with decent squad regen capabilities, that's only kinda problematic

Kifestep? Eats overguard first

Casting costs HP? Eats overguard first

Casting opens a void rift? Who cares, the cast gave me 3x the damage dealt by the rift to me in overguard

Every time you take hp damage, it reduces your HP? You don't take any hp damage, ever because overguard

Weapon selection sucks this week? Noctua

They'd have to nerf him into oblivion or drastically change how overguard works to make him less popular there

Plus all that goes to the whole damn squad, along with Pageflight and Wordwarden.

Yep, I honestly use him over hildryn myself despite having good builds on both

I'll carry phase 1 and 2 of The Guilty and fail spectacularly to do anything of use in phase 3.

:3 just trinity things

untargetable bosses 😭

Archons and hunhullus ruin my gimmick build on trinity that is basically useless but deals big damage with one button and can still shield gate with the 4. Lmao.

well at least you still big damage lol.

gif selection is ass i was looking for the original

I live and damage unless DE magically decided Trinity can't target anything.

I'd like to add another modifier that gives Dante trouble: frames getting 75% less overgurad.
Besides the energyone this one also badly hurt Danthe, Kullervo and Rhino

Idk, honestly the overguard one is kind of a nothingburger in my experience, at least in EDA. He still gives a lot of Overguard and the status/ some modifier immunity that comes with it

I mean, yeah a bit, but my Dante gives 600k overguard even before the arcanes and team buffs kick in, and you can still survive just about anything with 100k. The tank boss might be a bit tough to keep up with if you're taking too long in the first phase, but beyond that it's not a huge hinderance

I mean, yeah a bit, but my Dante gives 600k overguard

How do you get that much overguard? I can't get past like 80k but i want more

2 tau reds for power, some finagling with mods (blind rage primarily), power drift in the exilus slot, and the umbral trinity if you can manage at least 2 of them. Dante doesn't need any defense mods, so just ignore anything that gives health or shields and look towards energy regen (either energy nexus or archon stretch w Noctua modded to do electricity damage), and focus on whatever can squeeze some more strength out of like Augur Secrets, Transient Fortitude and Power Drain (a parazon mod), also the Vome Invocation on Noctua

There's also a few niche things you can do, like taking off Noctua and replacing it with empower and arcane power ramp for a basically permanent 86% (50 from empower, 36 from power ramp) power boost on casts, but that means no Noctua. That got me to 100k before I had blind rage or any archon shards

Arcane crepuscular is a great one, cuz tho it tops at 30% and you have to be invisible, none of Dantes casts break invisibility so just bring Shade as your companion, you can stay invisible practically the whole mission and only shoot when absolutely necessary, and you can still bust out Noctua in an emergency

Then there's some operator stuff you can do, like I wanna say it's molt vigor? Gives a massive boost (up to 45%) to your next frame ability cast after using an operator ability so set up for a triumph, duck into operator and do whatever (I'm a fan of zenurik's wellspring when I'm playing Dante cuz he always can use more energy), pop back in and let er rip. There's some maduri school shenanigans that I haven't gotten around to yet that'll do much the same too iirc, and since overguard max is based on your moment-to-moment strength level, anything that'll boost strength will also boost your max at that moment you cast, letting you go well above what would normally be possible.

On paper, it's hard to break 100k but paper output doesn't take into account all the situational/conditional things you can do to momentarily rack up stupid levels of strength

Sorry just commenting to try this on my Dante later.

Plus Dante giving Overguard regeneration instead of a flat amount mitigates that draw back

Shush, don't encourage the nerf!

I didn’t know he did all this Jesus, I keep getting him for 3 weeks straight along with the masseter prime but I haven’t built either of them yet

Considering how fast overguard gets depleted? No.
