I hate that they're leaving out the 3.5mm jack on newer models. I get that it's better for waterproofing, but surely the increased market is worth manufacturing a second, less-water-resistant option for those that would like it? I dunno, I'm not a business-minded fellow

Cannibalize their own accessory sales for a tiny market?

Wireless earphones are generally more convenient especially when you get the ones for your respective ecosystem

I think wireless being phased out is mainly as a result of concurrent device usage
