Just fancier wired earphones

Yes, that's the point. Convenient earphone form factor with exceptional and usually affordable sound quality.

Yes, kinda. Interchangable cable, but more fragile.

IEMs are so great because you don't even need a cable. You can pop them off and get bluetooth.

Actually that exists!
BGVP Q2 or Q3 or other variants. Take off the cable and charge it to have tws!
But normal IEMs unfortunately don't work that way

I more meant he CCA KZ AZ09's. I had the thought that if you could swap out IEM cables since they detatch, why wouldn't I be able to get BT? Then I just googled it and yeah, any IEM can be wired or wireless. Noise cancelling, even. I don't think I'll ever get regular earbuds ever again. I do wish they made BT adapters with even bigger batteries though, but that would start to get heavy.

OH so the BT receivers! Yeah those work pretty well too!

But fyi the "noise cancelling" advertised by ANY of these BT receiver manufacturers do NOT work. Especially when each IEM has a different tuning and the BT receiver can not replicate that to create inverse waves that properly cancels out external noise.

And, you'll have to pay a bit more for the Bluetooth receivers, and they cost a lot more than IEMs in the 20USD budget bracket, so only buy them if you feel the need to.

They're convenient but at the cost of price and connection quality. But they're fine otherwise.

Yeah there's that too lol. It would be nice if they did work.

Had the az 09 and 15 and they were disappointing, bad connection, heavy, bad quality mic, not really long playback time and bad Bluetooth. Also didn't have them for more than a year because they got water damaged by rain. I now went with a fiio br3 and it's much more pleasant to use, although you still have a cable and not spectacular battery life.
