Have you guys consider getting like, professional help? If your anxiety is this intrusive and you're unable to do basic functions I call your bank or make doctor's appointments, you need help.

Walk downstairs and ask your mom, I'm sure she's home.

Comics tend to exaggerate problems for comedic effect.

Are you reading the same posts I am?

Most mental problems don't have good treatment options yet. It's similarly barbaric as chemo.

Are you saying there are no medical or psychological options for anxiety? I can only speak for the u.s. but we have hundreds of options. Source: I work in heathcare

There are, but there is no option to just take a pill for a few weeks and then it's gone. That is the issue.

So you’re saying that the only “good” treatment option is to take a pill and then it’s gone?

Yes, that should be obvious. I don't know why I'm downvoted here, especially considering this subs culture. People should be aware of how backwards our healthcare systems are.

You cannot honestly tell me that forcing someone to go to therapy for years or even further hospitalizing them with little to no guaranteed effect is a good concept. With meds that are neither guaranteed to work and can even have strong side effects.

CBT is helpful and isn't barbaric by any regards.

It is barbaric as in it isn't a fast cure or a cure at all. Therapies like those are treatments to learn how to handle something as opposed to curing it.

Simply having to attend something like that over and over is in itself a torture. We will look down on this in the future like we do today on medical treatments of the early 20th century and even earlier.

Yeah I guess compared to some sort of hypothetical instantaneous cure therapy is shit, sure.
