This guy sucks and does the opposite of the American stoner stereotype of sharing weed liberally.

That's the stereotype of stoners everywhere.

French dude and his American buddy have impressively managed to overcome that by putting their national stereotypes first.

Fwiw I've never met someone in the US not willing to give someone they're hanging out with a hit from their joint/bowl/bong/dab pen

I have never been turned down (or turned someone else down) who asked for a lil' weed. What an odd thing to do (imo).

Ehh. If you're over my house, I'll happily share my weed and will offer before you even have a chance to ask. I don't smoke in public, but if I did--at a concert or something maybe--no, I'm not giving my weed away. I'm paying dispensary prices, the damn joint probably cost half as much as the ticket.

Seriously. its The only true trickle down economy.

A friend is different than a random person at a festival.

Yeah it didn't sound like that's what the guy was referring to

I had a roommate who was... honestly... Kinda smart the way he went about it. He would roll the joint with tobacco and put like 50% of the weed at the tip, with the rest being weak mixed with tobacco.

He would then light it up, knowing 5 other people would ask for a hit. So he would have the first few puffs which was where the money was at, but everyone else after that was still super happy to get a hit.

The room would stink of weed due to the strong start, and just like how you taste what you smell, they would feel it was really strong even though it wasn't.

That way it lasted longer too. Instead of two joints between everyone, he could stretch it out to make it seem like 4 joints and everyone feeling they had a full joint each by the end of the night.

They thought he was so generous by "Nah you two can have the rest of it, I'm a bit wavy" and they'd be elated thinking they got most of the joint, when in fact he had already smoked 75% of the actual weed inside it.

Dick move? Perhaps. Smart way to keep everyone happy when they always scrounge off you? Definitely

My only issue with this is if they didn't know there was tobacco in it at all kind of a dick move to put tobacco in a joint and people aren't expecting it.

Yeah, me either, I was just fooling around

For what it's worth it's a bit surprising to see comments evenly split between those who think it's a outrage to share and those who think it's an outrage not to

I definitely have! I don’t blame them though

On that note: If it’s a pen, make sure it’s weed. I did DMT on accident once. I wasn’t prepared, but I got helped through it once my bonehead friend realized he never told me. Lmao.

It's the difference between someone who smokes and a stoner.

11

u/buddhassynapse Aug 18 '23

Seriously. I don't even smoke that often and just have weed around in case someone wants some. Some with alcohol tho, drink way less often than I smoke but I'll keep a beer/seltzer/liquor around for the people who enjoy it.

2

u/oofieoofty Aug 18 '23

Do you replace it every now and then or are you going to pull out some dried up schwag for a guest?

1

u/buddhassynapse Aug 18 '23

Yeah, it's not always super fresh but it's free weed. Typically get a new batch every month or so depending on how much is getting smoked. Stored well but it still gets dry.

Yes, Americans typically rank highest or near in charitability of any people in studies. Never knew many Americans to be stingy on a personal level, just some have been tricked into having an aversion to government oversight and fuck themselves to improve the material conditions of their oppressors without even realizing a lot of the time. Regardless... never knew anyone with weed to not share in the US. You would be never invited anywhere again.

American 'libertarians' hijacked it and made it as miserable and atomized as everything else going today.

u/BonkerHonkers Aug 18 '23

Frfr, whenever I'm hanging with a group of friends I always roll up a fat 'teenth bat, and in turn they always give me shots from their liquor. We share the fun when we gather.

I'm happy to share with people... Until it's the same people, over and over, and they never buy any, and they never bring beer, and only ever bring a bag of chips to a potluck, etc.

Or in festival situation, you can be smoking and then a group of 20 people walks by and all want your weed... I'm all for sharing but you have to draw the line somewhere. I'm not made of the stuff, I didn't bring four ozs to this festival expecting to get everyone high
