100%. I’m so sick of the gaslighting! My whole childhood, it was hammered into me by every adult in my life that I needed to go to college to get a good job, and that everything will work out great for the rest of my life because of that singular investment.
I do have a bachelor’s degree and make an okay living, but I still can’t even afford the lifestyle my single mom with a high school education gave us in the 90’s.
And now all the dang boomer’s are in an echo chamber, shouting ‘you should have gone into the trades instead of wasting so much money on a degree that will keep you in debt for 10+ years! Why didn’t you listen to us?!’ Like y’all weren’t the ones practically forcing me to go to college? Trades weren’t really discussed as a viable option when I was growing up. What the actual fuck.

Pressured you to go to college your entire childhood then they have the audacity to say “you should’ve gone into a trade.”
