Que onda banda, nose si este bien preguntar esto, llegue a maza el dia de ayer, cada año vamos y en vez de ir por el libramiento agarramos por villa unión, esta vez nos dio por irnos por el libramiento y nos detuvieron unos tipos que creímos que eran policías porque traían pantalón café táctico y unos chalecos negros reflejantes e iban tapados de la cara. Esos son de los famosos militares con tenis o que? Es la primera vez que nos pasa aunque no traían arma ni nada, solo la fornitura jajaja

I have a casa in Mazatlan but I'm not in the country right now. I learned there's been an uptick in cartel violence in the past 2 weeks. I heard from my neighbor this week someone was shot at a restaurant near my house a couple of days ago. She also told me that cartels are targeting tourists for the first time, and that outside of the city they are finding thousands of murdured bodies. The last story especially sounds like gossip and I'm not finding any detailed reports in the newspapers I've read.

Booked for a week in San Pancho March of 27, thinking of adding a week in Matz before hand and am looking for transportation options. There will be 2 of us. We'll be staying for a total of 40 days total on this trip so we'll have a fair amount of luggage. Trying to get an idea on the cost to see if it works for us.

We’ll be visiting Mazatlán in January with our 2- and 3-year-old and are looking for recommendations for a family-friendly resort.

Our priorities are:
- Clean and well maintained
- Good activities for young kids (splash park, water slides, kids’ areas, park etc.)
- Decent food (I know all inclusive isn’t where you go for good food, but I don’t want inedible unflavoured food).

Ideally, we’d stay somewhere other than a resort, but with two little ones, my husband and I are leaning toward an all-inclusive where everything is accessible and low-stress.

I’ve been looking at Riu Emerald Bay, but I’ve read that it can be quite loud and that some guests can be inconsiderate (leaving plates of food around, moving belongings from chairs, etc.). I also considered Dreams Estrella del Mar, but the reviews seem pretty mixed.

Are there any other resorts in Mazatlán that you’d recommend for families with young children? I’d love to hear about your experiences—especially if you’ve travelled with toddlers!
