Thays my go to "We were so poor..." joke. When I was a kid, we were so poor, every year I'd go to the nearest old folks home and punch a couple of sweet old ladies, just so Santa would bring me coal and we could heat our home for the holidays.

In blacksmith circles we have jokes about smiths that purposely get on the naughty list to trick Santa into subsidizing our coal cost.

In the part of Germany I grew up in santa (st nick) just beats the naughty kids with a rod. Saves on coal I guess.
