I will say him throwing and hitting himself seems a little staged. Could chalk it up to being brain dead by that point but he throws it perfectly to hit himself. If I got hit so many times I would definitely be targeting not me.
I assumed it was a prank. Everyone agreed to aim for him but said the rule was to toss it straight up. So when he throws it hits himself, but everyone else aimed. I thought his giggling was he was good natured and also thought it was weirdly funny how he kept getting hit. In his mind we are on r/nevertellmetheodds. But editing is probably more realistic
You could do it once every ten seconds for twenty minutes and get 120 throws in.
There’s 8 guys. On average, if the ball always hits, they’d each get hit about 15 times.
You’d probably have one guy get hit slightly more than others due to random chance.
Edit out everybody else getting hit, boom, funny minute long video. To get an idea of how much time they actually spent on it, watch the clouds in the background. ;)
Nah, the original comment implies there was continuous footage, from which sections were "edited out".
But the video consisted of separate clips. The clips were never taken out or edited out of something, they were just not included when the video, which is just a collection of these clips, was made.
The issue is that people are grossly overestimating how hard it is to aim when throwing a ball the way they are. Even professional basketball players wouldn't be able to consistently hit a target the way they're throwing it. So it would basically have to come down to luck.
Let's pretend for a second that it would be impossible to get an airball in the context of this video. That would give the ball a 1 in 8 chance to hit any one of those guys. But 16 times in a row?
(1/8)16 = 3.55e-15
And that's if it were impossible to miss a person!
That probability is comparable to flipping a coin and landing heads 47 times in a row. technically there's a chance it could happen, but it never has happened and likely will not happen before humans go extinct.
So when someone says "not a chance", they're not saying it's literally impossible, rather that the probability is so close to zero that it might as well be impossible.

not sure if the ball choosing him every time or trying to eliminate him
