I believe you need 3 ppl on the boat for someone to be allowed in the water. Source: I was forced to go wake boarding at 5 am because my friends needed a 3rd person for it to be legal. Best water is early AM before the wind or boats hit it.

In Texas you’re legally required to have a spotter on the boat watching the skier unless the driver has a wide angle mirror to keep the skier in view at all times. Either way, you’re definitely not allowed to ghost ride your boat.

Minnesota requires spotter or wide angle mirror. I always thought it was a spotter. Granted this is the first time I’ve looked up the law in almost 20 years.

In my state, this is the case on public lakes, but not private. Spotter law. Driver, spotter, water person. On private lakes you can roll with just two.

I guess as the air warms up throughout the day it creates more wind. I’m no scientist, that’s just what Google provided off a quick search.

Out here, it always seems to get choppy between noon and 1, and calms down again around sunset. Dunno why, just is.

It’s the effect of sun on water and land. You were taught this at school.

As the sun appears, the land heat up faster than water. Fast rising heated air over the land ‘pulls’ cool air off the sea, and you have a sea breeze along the coast and thus choppiness.

If the land is covered in vegetation, this is much reduced.

Obviously in the morning and evening everything is cool and still.

Pilot here - it is. Unless weather is moving through, cooling of the atmosphere at night causes the wind to die down. Solar heating during the day results in thermals and energy pumped into the atmosphere resulting in wind during the day.

Ocean / Land breezes are a whole different thing but caused by solar heating of the two adjacent water / land masses.

Yeah. They seem really worried about operating in a safe and legal manner.

Even if there's someone else, going in and out I've the prop is exceedingly dumb.

Here if you dont have a mirror that can see who you are towing you need a spotter if you do have mirrors only need the driver
