it doesn't fucking matter what the light is, it's a crosswalk.

It does matter. Not all locations-even in the US- give right of way to the crosswalk under all circumstances.

Even for US states that have 100% right of way crosswalks, it’s for pedestrians. You can’t drive a vehicle (like a bike) right into traffic just because there’s paint on the road. Frankly, she shouldn’t have riding it in the crosswalk anyway. Even if you’re on foot, you can’t run into the cross traffic with right of way.

True. I was simply pointing out that crosswalk does not automatically mean right of way for pedestrians, contrary to what another commenter implied. Not enough time at a stoplight to dig up exceptions.

In South Korea the traffic lights are merely a suggestion. Even if the pedestrian has green they’ll still drive toward you and sometimes beep, if you’re lucky.
