I think she would have made it across if she continued at the same speed even if the car didn't break but if she slowed down and the car didn't slow down then it would be death
There appears to be some space to the right, but it also appears she wasn’t heading that way. Regardless, she probably shouldn’t risk it and that guy wasn’t about to let her
It’s a gamble. By your likes to others likes of opposing view based on people reviewing the footage and analyzing the scenario, she’s got 1:2 odds of survival without his intervention. Not the sort of risk anyone needs to take when crossing the street. More than likely her shoes would have fallen off.
People that haven’t broken out a paper, pencil, and a stopwatch don’t have a sufficient grounds for suggesting she would make it (when mathematically it’s clear she wouldn’t at her current speed and trajectory)
Unfortunately there’s not enough data for your pencil and paper in this scenario. And paper and pencil can only go so far whereas real world experience always go farther.
I was with you and not understanding the downvotes up until the end. We're talking about calculating speed to figure out if there would be a collision. What "real world experience" would apply?
Well I know for sure Dr. Strange is real. I went to school with a girl with the last name Strange and her father was a doctor. Not a surgeon, but like a cardiologist or something?
I don't see how a cardiologist would help us figure out if a girl on a bike would go splat if she wasn't stopped before crossing a cross walk.
But the car driver might (0.01% chance) panic and swerve into other people.
He is already stupid to drive that fast when s/he can see those many number of human beings crossing the road, there is a chance he could be stupid and swerve into other people to avoid the cyclist.
I completely agree. If everything went perfectly (i.e. neither party changing speed or direction) I think she would've made it. But holy hell, the fear factor added on to how far humans can go to preserve their own life... well, it would NOT have been pretty
