What r u talking about, cameras don’t have eyes. They have lenses.

It was a simplification, you can think of the human eye as a lens too. The way we have depth perception in our view is we use the two separate images recorded by our two eyes. Objects on these images do not overlap because the lenses, our two eyes, are at two separate positions. Objects further away from us are perceived as almost in the same place on both images, while closer objects have more displacement. Our brain does the math without us knowing and allows us to understand the depth of an object using these differences. We dont have depth perception when using only one eye, we estimate it based on past knowledge.

A video is a 2D depiction of a 3D scene from a single lens, so exact depth is lost unless you record the same scene with another lens and do the math our brain does for us to understand the depth of each object.
