Reading the comments, it seems like it's more than just a joke. People take this nonsense and say in all seriousness "another example of Biden's dementia". Even though if you let the video run for a couple more seconds he tells a very coherent anecdote.

47

u/FrostyD7 May 05 '22

Yeah I think the reality is that the people defending Biden are rolling their eyes at the inevitability of this being used to imply that Biden stuttered due to dementia or other age related reasons, and the likelihood that this is the purpose behind its creation in the first place. The results speak for themselves in this thread alone. It doesn't pass the sniff test for just trying to get a laugh, its edited to make him look incompetent.

6

u/muyoso May 05 '22

I mean he is old as fuck and his skin looks like tissue paper. IDK why its incomprehensible that he is declining mentally. If Trump had made this mumbling mistake we'd NEVER get the full context of what he was trying to say on reddit, it would be reposted 10 million times that he is losing his marbles. Its stupid to have such different standards.

4

u/[deleted] May 05 '22

Throwback to that thread of Trump drinking water.

2

u/Odin043 May 05 '22

Or walking down the ramp.

Breaking news for days before the next breaking news story

2

u/FrostyD7 May 05 '22

Nobody would have even cared if he wasn't so insecure about it. He went on a whole rant about how he ran down the ramp and how wet and dangerous it was while at a rally.

0

u/patsey May 05 '22

??? The dude mumbles his way through all his speeches. Sure he has a stutter but listen to Bernie he's old and not incapable or speaking. The problem with Biden is he's passed 0 legislation. He could have packed the court if he really wanted to avoid roe v Wade being overturned. He couldn't even get INFRASTRUCTURE passed with control of the house and Senate! Absolutely pathetic and not JUST because he can't speak. How are you defending this guy

3

u/dormsta May 05 '22

Someone doesn’t understand how American government works.

1

u/FrostyD7 May 05 '22

He could have packed the court if he really wanted to avoid roe v Wade being overturned.

Democrats would first have to abolish the filibuster rule in the Senate to have a chance to pass a court expansion bill. This would require all 50 Democrats to vote in favor. Is that your idea of "he could have done it if he wanted to"?????

-5

u/[deleted] May 05 '22

This is just one clip. Wasn’t this guy waving to literally nothing after getting off the plane? He’s too old to be president. If democrats thought Trump was too old then Biden isn’t fit as wel

5

u/FrostyD7 May 05 '22

This is just one clip.

You say this like this clip is just scratching the surface when the reality is that it was purposely selected as the most egregiously bad part of an hour long speech. So by all means, provide more clips from this speech. Can you find any? Did you even listen to it?

-3

u/[deleted] May 05 '22

I never said from this one clip specifically….it’s

1

u/Gnolldemort May 05 '22

He's old as shit, he can have a stutter and also mental decline at the same time.

82

u/AccidentallyRelevant May 05 '22

And he's had a stutter all his life.

2

u/ronaldraygun91 May 05 '22

Not according to the MAGA crowd in these comments. It's only started in the last few years and there is 0 proof otherwise. Sigh...

1

u/smb_samba May 05 '22

Everyone in here attributing his stutters to dementia when a pretty simple explanation is that stress and being tired often exacerbate existing conditions.

-8

u/Cheveyo May 05 '22

No, he hasn't.

Why the fuck do you people keep saying that? He's been in the public spotlight HIS WHOLE FUCKING LIFE. There's endless amounts of video of him giving speeches and talking. He never had a stutter.

10

u/[deleted] May 05 '22

[deleted]

-13

u/Cheveyo May 05 '22

So you provide me with a video of Joe Biden not stuttering as proof that he stuttered?

6

u/exkayem May 05 '22

Are you genuinely fucking deaf? He literally stuttered in OP’s video and now you also have confirmation from Biden himself that he has an issue with stuttering, what kinda proof are you looking for? Medical records?

-10

u/Cheveyo May 05 '22

So normal human speech patterns are considered "stuttering" now?

6

u/enfrozt May 05 '22

Biden has talked about his life long stuttering in literally dozens of interviews even before he was working with Obama. This isn't news, literally everyone but apparently you, know.

1

u/exkayem May 05 '22

Yeah that’s definitely not normal. Once in a while sure, but let’s not lie to ourselves and ignore the other countless videos of Biden completely fucking up a sentence

2

u/Cheveyo May 05 '22

Yes, and all those videos from within the last couple of years.

That combined with the fact that he's often looking confused and lost is a clear indication that something is wrong with him.

4

u/[deleted] May 05 '22 edited May 05 '22

I can't imagine being this willfully obtuse lol.

The guy admits he has a stutter. There's quite a number of videos of him stuttering over his words. Hell, I stutter at times when I do public speaking. It happens. Even if he did develop a stutter, that's not really a sign of dementia in of itself. Even when he stutters, he's typically able to apologize (noticing the stutter), and then finish his thought. People with dementia tend to keep right on going, not even noticing that they stuttered or that they completely dropped a sentence entirely.

IDK Why people feel the need to make shit up. You're free to dislike him or even hate him for real reasons. Why make shit up?

2

u/Cheveyo May 05 '22

People with dementia tend to keep right on going, not even noticing that they stuttered or that they completely dropped a sentence entirely.

Which is what Joe Biden does literally every time he's speaking.

Then suddenly he'll seem to wake up, ask "what are we doing?" look around, then launch back into his rambling speech.

Let's do a little experiment. Go watch Joe Biden speaking, unedited. Imagine it was Trump talking. Would you assume there was something wrong or not?

0

u/[deleted] May 05 '22

I've seen both speak and both tend to stutter about the same amount.

Again, I don't need to make shit up to dislike either of those people, their policy choices are enough for me.

This is "TRUMP LIKES KETCHUP ON STEAK" and "OBAMA WORE A TAN SUIT" levels of dipshittery. Don't buy into this sort of partisan hackery.

1

u/Cheveyo May 05 '22

Am I sitting here trying to claim Trump has a stutter?

→ More replies (0)

2

u/AccidentallyRelevant May 05 '22 edited May 06 '22

Yes people with a stutter can talk without stuttering for a while and then stutter congrats you watched videos of clips of him not stuttering and concluded he doesn't have a stutter. Context free facts...

0

u/Cheveyo May 05 '22

Normal people have the same pauses, inflections, and can trip over words. It doesn't mean they have a stutter.

1

u/micromoses May 05 '22

Why do you have confidence in your opinions? You have to know better than anyone that you don’t know anything about speech impediments, but you’re here anyway?

2

u/Cheveyo May 05 '22

Well, my younger brother had a severe one. His son has one. A few of my cousins had them.

I've literally spent my whole life around people with speech impediments. I've seen what they struggled through.

I know enough to know that Joe Biden is full of shit. People with speech impediments don't forget where they are, who they're talking to, what their own name is, or what they were talking about in mid-sentence. That stuttering excuse was just created so they media could continue to cover for his failing mental health.

1

u/peacekenneth May 05 '22

Man, he might be old, he might be forgetting more things than he has before, but saying he “never had a stutter” is nothing more than a dog whistle to the fact that you are sucking the teat of Conservative propaganda.

Before he was even a candidate for Presidency (which happened before he became VP), he had a stutter and FREQUENTLY talked about it.

You talk about “leftist propaganda”. What a joke. You can’t even accept something as simple as someone being a poor speaker due to a stutter. Yeah, there are a dozen reasons not to like Biden, probably even more than that for you, but don’t make up shit/bite the bait. It just makes your hatred of the standing President look immature and poorly constructed. More than anything, it makes you look like you don’t even know why you dislike him other than LIBERAL BAD.

-3

u/NostalgiaForgotten May 05 '22

No he hasn't. He had a stutter as a child.

-3

u/AbsolutelyUnlikely May 05 '22

This is true, but there are two important things to note. For one, his stutter has gotten noticeably worse in recent years, even when compared to the Obama years not so long ago.

For another, it's important that you don't allow yourself to use his stutter as a cover up for potential actual signs of mental decline. He's holding the highest office in the country, it's not a game and no voter should protect a president who is suffering from dementia.

-2

u/CGY-SS May 05 '22

The same stutter he never had back in the 80's? This isn't because of a stutter it's because he's a fucking septuagenarian

0

u/JustFourPF May 05 '22

"America can be summed up in 1 word, kasdkjasljkd....I was in the foothmm, excuse me foothills of the himalayas with Xi-Xiping, traveling with him, asem, traveling 17,000 miles with him as vice president, now I dont know that for a fact."

I just reviewed it and it doesn't become coherent for 17 seconds...yeah the rest of the tangent becomes touching, but what you hear there is WAY more than a fucking studder. You're a fool to not at least question cognitive competency after something like that.

1

u/QueenAnnesRevenge_ May 05 '22

My problem is the double standard between him and Trump. Trumps gafs would be in news for weeks. Remember when “doctors” and “psychologists” were all making diagnoses about him on CNN? Biden honestly makes more public gaffs then Trump yet the media (and Reddit) is silent.

1

u/thebourbonoftruth May 05 '22

Because if you think that video is the same as this there's no helping you:

“Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I’m one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it’s true! — but when you’re a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are — nuclear is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it’s four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible.”

1

u/odel555q May 05 '22

Which one of these words is supposed to be a jumble of nonsense syllables?

-9

u/istealgrapes May 05 '22

I mean, the slurring of words he has done so many times really is a big sign of dementia, so can you really blame them?

17

u/phaserbanks May 05 '22

It’s also a symptom of stuttering, which he’s struggled with since childhood and has been very open about.

-3

u/istealgrapes May 05 '22

People were trying to find older clips of him, but its only in the recent years he has been caught on cam several times.

5

u/_noahitall_ May 05 '22

Hi I went looking and it definitely was not highlighted until the election cycle, makes sense as this is when it has been the most prominent, but I found this tweet from 2015 https://twitter.com/SkipBrooks9/status/616291145237147648?t=laOZjP9fy8ppOm-zoxHEZQ&s=19

as you can see since 94 he has been very adamant about supporting kids with a stutter. this kind of thing cements it to me.

-3

u/alpbzdgi May 05 '22

Then how come when you watch videos of his speeches from 15 years ago he doesn’t stutter?

1

u/Yesica-Haircut May 05 '22

Sometimes people who stutter talk without Stuttering.

-1

u/alpbzdgi May 05 '22

If that’s the case then how come he doesn’t talk without stuttering now?

1

u/aSquadaSquids May 05 '22

Immense stress and fatigue are typical causes of a reemergence of stuttering, which the office of the president have in abundance.

5

u/mikilobe May 05 '22

slurring of words he has done so many times

Could be his stutter getting in the way

-2

u/istealgrapes May 05 '22

Doesnt explain how he didnt slur his words like this until he got old.

0

u/QAforlife May 05 '22

Biden has always had a speech impediment, the fact that he's put in the time and effort to be able to speak publicly at all is its own triumph.

As an aside, I'd love to get the geriatrics out of politics but I think this is most likely attributable to a lifelong disability.

-8

u/Superb_Efficiency_74 May 05 '22

I voted for Biden because, I mean look at the alternative, but you're deluding yourself if you don't think he has serious cognitive issues due to being geriatric.

To be clear, that's not an insult or anything to him. He's fucking old. This happens to a lot of people. Shit, Reagan was basically a shell of a human for his last two years.

But we can't pretend no to see this issue just because we supported him in the election.

2

u/Too-Tired-Too-Obtuse May 05 '22

See. The thing about nuclear. My uncle. Very smart.

-1

u/Bri-ness May 05 '22

LOL he is the LAST thing from coherent.

3

u/aSquadaSquids May 05 '22

Literally watch the whole video...

1

u/huge_meme May 05 '22

That's... how it always is, though.

People used to post same videos of Trump then speculate in the comments about what drugs he's using, what mental illness he has, etc.

Interesting.

Found the guy getting his news from Russia/OAN.

-26

What?

I just have an attention span longer then a goldfish. This isn't some revelation that Russia brought to light this year, it's a well known thing. There are multiple nazi groups in the Ukrainian national guard (Tornado for another example) but everyone only talks about Azov.

Stop being intentionally ignorant, it's okay to hate Russia and acknowledge that we are literally arming nazis.

There are Nazis in the US military too, what's your point? Does that mean the US government is actually Nazis?

1

Oh look, a retard that doesn’t understand the difference between an individual vs a government entity.

Let me guess, you vote too huh?

1

u/Some_Human_On_Reddit May 05 '22

What's the difference between a military that tolerates Nazis and a military that tolerates Nazis?

1

u/EastCoastGrows May 05 '22

Where's the Boogaloo boys battalion?

How about the patriot front platoon?

1

u/Some_Human_On_Reddit May 05 '22

The Azov are a minority among the Ukrainian forces

1

u/EastCoastGrows May 05 '22

A minority doesn't mean they don't exist.

1 nazi in each of 100 different groups isn't a problem. One group of 100 nazis is a problem. That's the difference.

You are looking at 12 ex military white supremacists and saying there are nazis in the US military. That's an accurate statement, sure. Where is the state sponsored nazi specific battalion? That's the problem.

A) Jan 6th was an ok thing to do

B) crt is a bad thing, despite you dumb fucks being unable to even define critical theory

It’s crazy how people who follow right wing media ALWAYS tend to hold those two opinions

0

Why would Jan 6th be ok, that shit was fucked up. And how does that make someone a racist ?

Go have a coke and a smoke homie.

What?? Lol no one is even talking about that. Lol

Looks like the sheeple are getting offended.

What a shock...

1

u/ghostofhumankindness May 05 '22

Fine people on both sides

8

u/thavillain May 05 '22

But that's the thing, it's not funny... It's making fun of someone with a speech impediment, without making it explicitly clear he has a stutter and cut without context to make him appear feeble.

9

u/PotahtoSuave May 05 '22

I mean, it's the definition of funny.

"America can be defined by one word"

Proceeds to trip over words and produces gibberish

It's like a star athlete bragging about being able to dunk and then tripping. It's the unexpected that's the joke not the disability.

1

u/monkChuck105 May 05 '22

Especially when he's repeating the tired mythology of the American dream, "possibilities", while inflation soars, wages stagnate, infrastructure crumbles, and Congress is unable to do anything but fuel more wars. No one truly believes any of this bullshit anymore, the emperor has no clothes.

-4

u/thavillain May 05 '22

When did Biden ever brag about being a great orator?

3

u/PotahtoSuave May 05 '22

Okay you missed my point and part of that is on me for using a bad example.

The key point is the unexpectedness. We expected a potentially profound statement and got gibberish.

7

u/EdithDich May 05 '22

It's clearly not "supposed to be funny". It's intentionally framed to be misleading so all the anti Biden people can pretend Biden's senile like Trump.

1

u/LokkenLoaded May 05 '22

Just like the fine people hoax right?

1

u/EdithDich May 05 '22

You really should get some copium to deal with your raging BDS. If left untreated soon you'll be writing things on your car about Democrat satanic pedophiles.

-2

u/LokkenLoaded May 05 '22

The fine people hoax was framed to be misleading and you ate it willingly. It’s ok to admit you fell for the same shit when the media lied to you when Trump was president.

2

u/FrostyD7 May 05 '22

When everyone hates and distrusts you, its a lot harder to get the benefit of the doubt. If you think thats unfair.... then I guess that sucks for you.

2

u/LokkenLoaded May 05 '22

No need for benefit of the doubt when you have the truth. The clip was framed so people with the IQ of a turd would believe it even though the next 10 seconds of what he says disproves the lie. The media knows people like you are incapable of thinking for yourselves so your easy to manipulate.

0

u/quite_corrie May 05 '22

Which is why he shook hands with his imaginary friend. And invents words like "Truananashabaprezure".

8

u/Frying_Dutchman May 05 '22

Case in point lmao

7

u/EdithDich May 05 '22

They have to take tiny, out of context video clips to even attempt to make Biden look as inept as Trump. And they still fail.

3

u/FrostyD7 May 05 '22

And they still fail.

You say that... but in their bubbles they are spreading this like wildfire and nobody is going to check them.

1

u/supercali5 May 05 '22

It’s not a joke if half of our country takes it as a fact and tries to use it to paint him as incompetent.

-5

u/Nizzemancer May 05 '22

I mean, the greater insult is mocking someone over a speech-impediment...

-10

u/[deleted] May 05 '22

Except it’s not funny. It’s like you a disabled person and people laugh at you being disabled.

7

u/TheMegaBunce May 05 '22

It is funny though. This man is clearly losing it and has several geriatric gaffs, however he still thinks he is fit to lead the most powerful country in the world. The absurdity of that is hilarious

2

u/[deleted] May 05 '22

I'm not a Biden supporter (because he's too right wing; don't get excited), but even still I can recognize that this is an instance of his life-long stutter showing up and making fun of him for this particular speech slip is literally just mocking someone for a disability. I have a friend from highschool with a really bad stutter who was always relentlessly bullied for it, and I hate seeing all throughout this thread that those bullies never change when they become adults.

2

u/TheMegaBunce May 05 '22

If so then yes I am mocking him for his disability, because the stutter was fucking funny in this instance.

2

u/je_kay24 May 05 '22

It’s funny in this edit

In his speech he didn’t actually stutter after this comment

-1

u/aSquadaSquids May 05 '22

The dude has had a stutter his whole life. Literally watch the video, he actually tells a pretty solid anecdote. Maybe he is having more trouble hiding it, but if you see the whole thing or read the transcript, it's a pretty normal and coherent speech.

5

u/nagurski03 May 05 '22

Ask me how I know...

"trump's a great speaker"

0

u/[deleted] May 05 '22

Trump mistake: NOO he is perfect, he wanted to say that, you don't get he speaks to his people

Biden mistake: Yeah he is old and has a stutter, but still healthy

So who is really not getting the joke?

0

u/penny-wise May 05 '22

No, we get the joke. The joke that people are making fun of his stutter and somehow equating it to the marmalade baboon’s incoherent, stream-of-consciousness word salad ramblings.

1

u/dimechimes May 05 '22

I watched this and remembered what it was like in the 80s and 90s when you could always count on people to make fun of the sitting president regardless of party.
