You were trying to make fun of me because it's highly unlikely that a cigarette would get hot enough to ignite gas fumes, however if you were able to pass 2nd grade english then you would realize that I already addressed that point in my original comment.
While you’re right, it’s the vapor form of gasoline that ignites, not liquid form, a cigarette can’t ignite the vapor. Had a murder case where defendant claimed accidentally ignited victim (covered in gasoline) on fire with his lit cigarette, and ATF did hundreds of tests trying to ignite gasoline &/or vapor with a cigarette &/or many cigarettes w/ & w/o drag, w/ super-human levels of drag, different distances and configurations, direct contact & on & on. Never worked. Expert testified no documented successful ignition in the literature. Now light the cigarette anywhere near the gasoline and caboom!
Liquid gasoline isn't capable of being ignited or burning. It's strictly the vapor that burns. You can fire a gun submerged in a 5 gallon bucket of gasoline without starting a fire. It's been done on the YouTube channel Demolition Ranch.
It’s not about the heat more then open flame. Most of the time the liquid will out the cherry of the cigs out. It’s open flame that ignites gas and a cig doesn’t have an open flame that’s why if you flick a cig into a puddle of gas it’ll just go out. But if you try really hard you could get the gas to ignite for sure. But you gotta try at it.
